Texas football true freshman participation chart after four games

Texas signed the No. 1 class in the 2025 recruiting cycle, and almost every member of that group saw the field on Saturday against Sam Houston State in the Longhorns’ 55-0 win.

For some, it was their debut in burnt orange. For others, it was the game that put them up against the four-game redshirt ceiling. One more appearance, and players like Daylan McCutcheon, Graceson Littleton, Lance Jackson, and Nick Townsend will be playing as sophomores in 2026.

Here’s a look at the true freshman participation chart, plus some stats, clips, and more for Steve Sarkisian’s talented group of first-year players.

Jaime Ffrench, WR

Ffrench saw eight offensive snaps against Sam Houston. He logged one catch for six yards. He was the No. 59 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Games played: SJSU, SHSU

Kaliq Lockett, WR

Lockett had 16 offensive snaps against Sam Houston State. He logged one catch for -10 yards. This year Lockett has three catches for 12 yards. He was the No. 20 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

KJ Lacey, QB

Lacey made his Texas debut against Sam Houston State with four snaps. He completed his only pass for seven yards. He was the No. 237 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Jonah Williams, DB

Williams made his Texas football debut against Sam Houston State with eight special teams snaps and 11 defensive snaps. Williams did not record any stats. He was the No. 9 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Kade Phillips, DB

Phillips led the Texas defense in snaps against the Bearkats with 31. He also added 18 special teams snaps. Phillips was credited with two tackles and a PBU. For the season, Phillips has three tackles and two PBUs. He was the No. 29 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Michael Terry III, WR

McCutcheon is at the four-game redshirt ceiling after playing 16 offensive snaps and two special teams snaps against Sam Houston State.
