The 6-foot-5 scoring guard and the No. 24 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle will announce out of Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Auburn.

Scott has made official visits to South Carolina, Auburn, Texas and Oregon over the last year.

Texas and Scott

Inside Texas considers the Longhorns and Alabama the clear favorites for the Palmetto State star ahead of his decision.

Scott made an official visit to Texas November 25-26 of 2022. Coming out of that visit, Texas took the lead in the recruitment.

Texas head coach Rodney Terry and staff have kept the heat turned up in the Scott recruitment since Terry was announced as head coach. Terry, along with assistants Frank Haith, Steve McClain and Brandon Chappell have all watched Scott in person at various points during the spring and summer live periods.

Scott on Texas

Texas: “Coach Terry was one of the coaches I felt really comfortable with on my official visit. He was an honest coach, so I felt like we had that bond. Some of the coaching staff is still there, and some of the players are still there, so I feel like it is a lot of the same there.”

Cam Scott talks finalists

In previous interviews with Tipton, Scott discussed each of the schools contending for his commitment.

Alabama: “I like their play style and how Coach (Nate) Oats likes to run his team. I feel like that could be a perfect situation for me. I feel like it’s a good spot where I could get better and get me prepared for the next level after college. Watching them play this season, I feel like I can shoot the ball pretty well. They like their longer wings and bigger guards, and they play the floor very spaced out. They tell me that with my athleticism and my shooting ability, I would be a great fit there.”

Auburn: “I love Auburn. I’m not even going to lie to you. Being down there, it was a really comfortable environment. Talking with the coaches, they’re all friendly. Some of the players getting recruited by them are already hitting me up, guys who are already committed, telling me Auburn is the place. I get probably three of four DMs a day telling me to go to Auburn.

Ole Miss: “Being recruited by multiple coaches there, at their previous schools before Ole Miss, I feel like it could be something special for me. I want to go in there and see how they put all that together and what they are working on for that program to look like. I built a relationship with Chris Beard while he was at Texas and Wes Flanigan when he was at Auburn.”

Oregon: “The chance to get better there is probably one of the greatest things I’ve seen. It’s in the Northwest and far away from a lot of places, especially for me. There are not many distractions there. All the resources they have throughout the campus was impressive. Just going through and looking at the stuff they have for football, the nutrition and strength stuff, what they have for basketball, every athlete, in every sport, they have something for you to get better. Being around so many top-tier athletes on campus is something special.”

South Carolina: “South Carolina is like 25 minutes from my home. That would be a big impact for me. It would be really meaningful to have a lot of people I know coming to my games and supporting me. That is something I would be interested in.”
