What the 12 drafted Longhorns are likely to make during their rookie years

Much like the MLB draft, the NFL draft now has a value attached to each pick. Rookie contracts don’t deviate too much from the value, especially since teams have to immediately make sure those players’ salaries live under the salary cap for the active roster instead of in a minor league farm system. That makes the current draft scales a good reference for determining what the 12 Longhorns who were selected in the 2025 draft are likely to make during their debut seasons in the NFL.

Kelvin Banks – Round 1, Pick 9 – New Orleans

The total value for Banks’ contract on the 2025 rookie scale is about $27.7 million over four years. As a first round selection, the Saints will have a fifth-year team option for Banks. The 2025 rookie scale salary for Banks is just over $5 million

Jahdae Barron – Round 1, Pick 20 – Denver

The total value for Barron’s contract on the 2025 rookie scale is about $18 million over four years. As a first round selection, the Broncos will have a fifth-year team option for Barron. The 2025 rookie scale salary for Barron is about $3.2 million.

Matthew Golden – Round 1, Pick 23 – Green Bay

The total value for Golden’s contract on the 2025 rookie scale is about $17.6 million. As a first round selection, the Packers will have a fifth-year team option for Golden. The 2025 rookie scale salary for Golden is about $3.2 million

Alfred Collins – Round 2, Pick 43 – San Francisco
