Three USC Trojans named to All-Pac-12 First and Second Teams

Two USC Trojans were named First Team All-Pac-12 and another was named to the Second Team on Tuesday as the conference announced its 2023 Football Performance Awards.

Safety Calen Bullock was named to the First Team after finishing the regular season with 61 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups and a 30-yard interception-return touchdown. He was joined on the first team by true freshman Zachariah Branch, who earned the honor as a return specialist. Branch, a finalist for the Jet Award, given to the nation’s best returner, led the nation in punt return average and was second n combined kick return yards. During the 2023 regular season, Branch had 42 kick returns for 442 yards and a touchdown as well as 15 punt returns for 309 yards and another score. Branch was also an honorable mention for the Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.

Wide receiver Brenden Rice earned Second-Team honors. He led the Trojans with 12 touchdown receptions to go with 45 receptions for 791 yards and a handful of big-play scores for USC. The 12 touchdown catches were good for No. 7 nationally.

USC Players Named Honorable Mention

Nine Trojans were named All-Pac-12 honorable mention this season. They include quarterback Caleb Williams, running back MarShawn Lloyd, wide receiver Tahj Washington, tight end Lake McRee, offensive linemen Jonah Monheim and Justin Dedich, defensive end Solomon Byrd and defensive tackle Bear Alexander. In addition to his first-team selection as a returner, Branch also earned honorable mention as an all-purpose/special teams player.

Linebacker Tackett Curtis was named honorable mention for the Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.
