Each week me and our impressive intern from USC’s Anneneberg School of Communications hop on Zoom to record our USC Recruiting Roundup. At that time we recap some of the interesting USC storylines of the week for our YouTube audience.

Our primary focus is on recruiting, but we’ll also touch on other topics each week.

In this USC Recruiting Roundup, WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader and Dylan Brashier discuss:

USC offensive line commit Hayden Treter in action

Story from our trip to Cherry Creek HS and chat with Hayden Treter coming later today after we publish 10 QUESTIONS:

But Treter gave off really strong Andrew Vorhees Vibes for me. He’s 6-7 and 320 pounds, very athletic, long arms, will provide valuable versatility at either guard or tackle, impressive footwork and Hayden moves extremely well.

USC running back Bryan Jackson’s big performance

In the first half of the first game of the season, 2024 USC running back commit Bryan Jackson went down with an elbow injury that would effectively keep him out of the next three games. Well, Jackson has now healed up and was back in action for the first time this season this past Friday night.

It is clear that Jackson was eager to get back in the mix with his talented McKinney squad. Jackson is just one of several division one and power five prospects on the roster, but he is arguably the most important with his role in the offense.

I will say, while Jackson technically fully returned this week, he did get in for one play last week, which actually resulted in a 3-yard touchdown rush. But it was his only snap of the game.

This week, he has back to himself. Jackson carried the ball 21 times, rushing for 113-yards and tallying up 3-touchdown scores.

McKinney won the game 35-14.

His touchdown runs were from 13-yards, 7-yards, and 3-yards out. He averaged 5.4 yards per rush in the game.

Jackson’s mom posted two short clips of his game on Twitter/X. They were not his touchdown runs, but two rushes that show his ability to avoid tackles and stay upright. One of the biggest praises I have had of Jackson’s game is his contact balance and knack for staying upright and moving forward.

Four-Star CB Isaiah Rubin put USC in his Top-4 – Prediction

On December 9, 2022, then Las Vegas (NV) Desert Pines 4-Star cornerback Isaiah Rubin announced ArizonaAuburnColoradoMichiganOregonTexas A&MUtah and Washington as his top eight schools.

Most following recruiting know these lists are amended throughout the year as new offers roll in.

Rubin, who’s now enrolled at Los Alamitos, added USC to his top schools list after an unofficial visit and earning a scholarship offer in late January. While he left impressed with the vibe at USC after that first visit, the Trojans didn’t offer. Coach Donte decided it was time to pull the trigger early this year.

“USC is one of my tops schools now because of Coach Donte (Williams) and what he has done with me,” said Rubin. “Me and Coach Donte have been building a very strong relationship lately and getting closer and closer day by day!”

Top 4 Schools

On September 20 Rubin released a list of his Top 4 schools and USC was among them. Oregon, Utah and Colorado were the other three schools. He plans to announce his school choice on October

WeAreSC didn’t communicate with Rubin often during the summer or beginning of the season, as he had sort dropped off their board. But times and situations continually change with recruiting and things started heating up with the Trojans again about a month ago.

Rubin was at the USC vs San Jose St. game, he’ll likely be at the Coliseum again when the Trojans play Arizona next Saturday and then he’ll announce his school choice on October 20. We submitted a USC prediction for Rubin earlier today.

USC now has a 92.6% chance of getting Rubin per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
