Some early betting trends are starting to trickle in for the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award following the draft a few weeks back.

Dave Mason of BetOnline — not the Pink Floyd drummer — posted some figures on which upcoming offensive rookies have the best odds for that ROY award, plus which players are getting the most action. You can find the full list of odds on the Offensive Rookie of the Year award further below, and take a look at some of Mason’s breakdowns as well.

Mason noted some guys who are “top liability” for the sports books, meaning players with some longer odds who are still getting a lot of action and stand to set the books back by quite a bit if they end up cashing in. Per Mason, these longer shots are getting a decent chunk of change on them:

Keon Coleman (12-1)
Bo Nix (12-1)
Ladd McConkey (25-1)
Jonathan Brooks (33-1)

Fans might see some major value in Brooks, the longest shot on this list, who was the first running back off the board this year but didn’t go until the 46th overall pick in the second round after two RBs went No. 8 and No. 12 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

However, neither player was competitive in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race last year as CJ Stroud ran away with it. But younger running backs do tend to get a ton of carries early on, and if none of the QBs wow voters, Brooks could put up strong enough numbers to take the honor.

You can see the full list of 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year odds right here, via BetOnline, starting with the favorites:

Caleb Williams (+200)

For starters, Dave Mason notes that, as the 2-1 favorite to win the award, No. 1 overall pick and new Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is one of the most-bet players to win it. Not a huge surprise there.

He certainly walks into a better situation than Justin Fields had last year, but by no means does Chicago enter the year expected to be a contender. If they can make the playoffs, though, it’d be hard to see Williams not winning the award in a landslide.

Jayden Daniels (+500)

So far, the odds are going by the book. The No. 1 pick is the clear favorite to win Rookie of the Year and the No. 2 pick, Daniels, follows right behind him.

There’s no question Daniels will come in and start right away, barring injury, and with his explosive set of skills, especially on the ground, there’s optimism he could put up an RGIII type of season in year one. Of course, Griffin also won Rookie of the Year back in 2012.

Marvin Harrison Jr. (+900)

After going to the Cardinals as the first offensive weapon off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft, Marvin Jr. is also the highest favorite among non-QBs to take home the Rookie of the Year award. He’s also the third overall favorite, but still a ways back from Williams at 2-1 and Daniels at 5-1.

Harrison was hailed as a generational receiver prospect throughout his time at Ohio State and certainly was picked high enough to reflect that. As with his Rookie of the Year odds, Marvin Harrison Jr. was also the first non-quarterback selected at No. 4.

Bo Nix (+1200)

The older and veteran Nix was the last of six quarterbacks selected in the top 12 of the draft. Yet, he comes in as the the third favorite among those six quarterbacks to take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Clearly, there’s some faith that the Broncos will start Nix. And not only that, but such strong odds also suggest analysts and bettors really believe in Sean Payton’s ability to put Nix in a position to succeed from day one.

Keon Coleman (+1200)

The former Florida State product possesses by far the best odds of any second round pick to take home Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Looking at the situation in Buffalo, it may not be crazy to see him win it.

The Bills just lost star receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason, who was the bell cow in the Buffalo WR room ever since he came over from Minnesota. With his production to replace, there’s a world where Coleman simply gets a lot more targets than some of the other receivers who went to teams with a stronger cast of wideouts around them.

Malik Nabers (+1400)

Malik Nabers is coming off back-to-back seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards at LSU, including more than 1,500 en route to All-American honors last fall. He also had 14 touchdowns during the 2023 season and finished his college career averaging 15.9 yards per reception.

Nabers is certainly confident in himself. In fact, he and former LSU teammate Jayden Daniels initially had a friendly wager of $10,000 for who would win the Rookie of the Year award until they called it off.

J.J. McCarthy (+1400)

So, the Vikings needed to replace longtime starting quarterback Kirk Cousins with the 10th pick, but not after Atlanta, Cousins’ new team, selected his backup two picks before Minnesota selected their own future QB. Odd, right?

But that’s why it’s J.J. McCarthy and not Michael Penix Jr. who ranks so highly on the Rookie of the Year odds. Had the Vikings kept Cousins and drafted McCarthy as his backup, perhaps Penix would be here instead as the assumed starter in Atlanta.

Drake Maye (+1600)

In a bit of a surprise, the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft, a potential immediate starter next season, is all the way down at 16-1 despite fellow top-three picks Daniels and Williams placing No. 1 and No. 2 on this list.

On the offensive side of the ball, the situation in New England in 2023 was abysmal. Sure, Mac Jones didn’t help, but neither did his teammates. Maye could very well start every game next season, but with his supporting cast, perhaps it’s tough to see him having the success of those other top picks.
