Who cares what the ratings are. Anyone who would post a look at me article that is 7 years old from a blow hard is an idiot to begin with.

BTW I noticed you mentioned golf as a highly watched sport why don't you log in under your Greg Jacobs account.
Then why did you read it and reply in the thread multiple times. See your ignorance it's plain as day and night.

I would log on as Greg but I don't know the password.

Im sure you know the password when you're on one of your make believe golf trips to Europe.

You are real active today I see your Tbone account has been posting on the other Board.

Yeah but I left it in England so I'll have to call the club house at Tewkesbury Park to get that for me from my club house locker. You should quit touching yourself as you reply to my every post.

Last person to bring Tewkesbury park up was Greg but hey we know you're the same. Right Tbone?

That's why they're rated 5th and sometimes freaking lower. Just because you have a Million Mexicans living in Texas doesn't mean it's enough to push soccer to the top. Once again soccer sucks and is boring.

But you are looking at leagues...

The numbers themselves are incorrect because the MLS isn't even the most watched league.
Isn't just Mexicans. Houston has the largest medical complex in the world, is the oil capital of the world and also is the space Capital of the world because of NASA.
I can meet people from every country in the world in Houston.

This was a weak troll anyway, Allen

Especially using an Ann Coulter comment from 7 years ago. She was trying to use immigration as an attack on American culture. Like brown skinned people are changing who we are...

Give credit to Marshall and move on. Don't have to **** on soccer.

College soccer sucks because the sport is different than others because most players are professionals by that age....

But this doesn't take away from what Marshall did.
It wasn't a NC in football, basketball or baseball.
But the players themselves all care the same regardless of sport.

Soccer is boring as all get out. Let's just call it what it is and leave it at that.

However, those dudes and dudettes are in phenomenal shape. I think I read a professional soccer player runs an equivalent 6 miles every game. So, gotta be in much better shape to play that sport than football, baseball, even basketball which I guess would be closest to soccer for being in shape.

Still, it is boring though.

I agree that soccer is boring and definitely an inferior sport to football and basketball when it comes to fan experience. By that I mean there is more going on for the fan to analyze and think about in those 2 sports than soccer which does not offer much more than a passive experience. I hear the defense of soccer regarding the amount of running they do all the time. Well if that's an argument, why isn't marathoning or track and field a more popular sport? I'd rather watch brief episodes of 100% athletic ability like with a play in football than a constant steady state of half *** effort with occasional spouts of intense effort. And just because something is hard, does not mean it is entertaining to watch. Gymnasts on rings are doing something that requires incredible strength and stamina, but it's not entertaining for 3 hours. I'm sure bench pressing 225 lbs 1000 times in 3 hours would be very hard to do and very few people could do it ... but would it be entertaining to watch?

Also the sport of soccer does not lend itself to strategy as much as America's big 3. No set plays like with football of formations and counters. Too spread out to have plays or philosophies like basketball. No line-up decisions or pitching decisions based upon the count or base runners like baseball.

Lastly the game actively tries to make itself boring. Offsides in soccer makes no sense to me. Look up the rule and tell me it isn't like basketball getting rid of the fast break. It's like they want a 0-0 tie with penalty kicks to decide games.

So because you lose every argument it's considered trolling.

This has nothing to do with Marshall. I gave them their credit. This doesn't change the fact that soccer sucks period.

The stats only include the MLS.

If you combine all the leagues...The games get more viewers than any sport in the US.

More selection.

Only sport that is close around the world is basketball but we as Americans don't watch European basketball for the most part.

I worked in the Philippines for 9 months. I know how people there feel about basketball. Even more than the US it seems

Actually has more viewers than any sport in the US...
If you look at the correct numbers
No it doesn't.

1. Run and kick
2. Fall Down
3. Fake injury
4. Slow it all down
5. Keep it 0-0 until near the end.

Soccer sucks and is boring and is low on the totem poll in America.

You may personally not like the sport

But you can't deny the popularity of the sport. More than that the importance of the US market in the sport

Huge clubs around the world are trying to bring in Americans to get the TV auidence...

A lot of local kids in my area are playing, several leagues, indoor/outdoor, travel, club, ect....like most youth sports, virtually none are any good but their parents all think they are future pros with a full college scholarship waiting for them....

From my observation, its becoming a vanity sport. Parents spending cash to travel out of town each weekend, camps "they just must attend", and private coaches.

This goes for other youth sports, not just soccer, but soccer is the lead offender.

I never played and find the sport brutal to watch, but it's not my business to tell others what they can like.
It's truly unbearable to watch. Speaking of, I find it remarkable that MLB is second in the US. It is better than soccer, but that is a low bar.

If you look at the correct numbers
If you count the pre school and grade school games viewed by soccer moms. Get into HS soccer and the crowd falls off significantly. So significantly that stands are mostly empty.
Attendance for WVU Soccer
@ Bowling Green 200
@ NIU 72
@ Akron 142
vs W Mich 127
vs #8 Marshall 400
@ SIU 50
vs Bowling Green 159
@ W Mich 75
vs NIU 282
@ Charlotte 147
AVG = 168
Take out the MooU game = 139

I just don't think trolling a particular sport because someone won a NC is worth the time...

Not like the players care any less.

Congratulate Marshall and move on. If you are upset by it...

Maybe you can add to the number of people who showed up during Coronavirus

I happen to really enjoy soccer and baseball...

If you don't enjoy them, thats fine....but I feel people who dont...don't really understand each game. They may understand the rules but they really don't understand the game.

That's not to insult anyone....just my take.

If you go to a baseball game, there is something happening every pitch. The nuances of the game are the exciting part for me.

Same with soccer...all 11 players are moving together as a team with the one goal of scoring. Some can't or wont appreciate it...which is fine....again...people like what they like...just my two cents.

Sure soccer has 11 guys all trying to score, but it has too many limitations from rules to the size of the field to allow for much variation in strategy. Defense for example is so heavily favored by these limitations that, unlike America's Big 3, you don't much see the concept of defensively or offensively oriented teams. Mostly defense is predicated on the goal keeper which is relegated to being near purely reactive with little options to be proactive. This is unlike defenses in Football, the pitcher in baseball, and to a lesser degree the defense in basketball. Highlights of a soccer game are pretty much goals, athletic shot blocks, and fouls. It's like if football only had FG/XP blocks, touchdowns, and personal fouls as highlights of the game.

I understand folks comparing soccer with tennis or golf. In those latter 2, there isn't much strategic options and it is more about admiring the highly technical feats of the athletes. However I do not see a rational argument for soccer over American Football, basketball, or even baseball because there is objectively less aspects of the game for the fan to pay attention to. I recognize that for most fans of any sport it is usually passive intake without real deep dives into the game. Just look at some posters on this board. For those fans it is just a matter of subjective preference and a lack of understanding of other sports. But I think I have a fair grasp on soccer and be it fast action bursts like football or slow plodding baseball, there is just more to those games for me as a fan to enjoy than soccer has to offer.

I live in the USA and don't give a **** about soccer like the majority of all Americans. You can leave the country now liberal trash.

On here in the day. But thanks for playing. Retired people don't need jobs. You just now told everyone your true identity is TVZ.
Agree. Even the ones who say they love it can't name 10 players in MLS.

I wouldn't say its regional anymore

Hockey is extremely regional.
You have people who catch on elsewhere but for the most part those are transplants who follow the league.

I know here in Houston they are talking about getting a team because of the amount of Canadians who move here because of the energy industry.

Most of us have never been on ice before with a hockey stick

People don't watch the MLS...

Americans want the best and the fact that they don't have the best frustrates them. So they get caught up in European soccer.

The Premier League gets almost 2x the ratings that the MLS gets.

People understanding the game is already there but those people are caught up in European soccer.

But this has forced European clubs to bring in American players.
They should have done it 20 years ago when the Premier League did...
Because those are the clubs people attached themselves to.

There is a huge value on American TV....

It was about soccer not being the top sport in the US and very few people care about it. Now it's about TVZ and his non stop rage over people really love it more than American football here in America.

???
The article is filled with ignorance.

The numbers you posted are incorrect because the fact that MLS is the third highest viewed league in the US.

You have made a NC in a non Revenue sport a big deal.

If you are upset that they won a NC. Better help the program at WVU. If not. Stop talking about it.

I like the sport. Never really did until I was older.
Found that it improved my basketball game actually.
Because of the movement off the ball.

It's about tbone69/allen using a loud mouth Ann Coulter to show his angst against soccer in America, all because he's butthurt over little Marshall winning a national title. As Townes said, it's probably best to just congratulate the champions and move on.

Shall I link the threads where I gave congratulations to the herd or just allow you to be ignorant like your other profile?

Did you give your new love TVZ a LIKE. God knows you babble about his like numbers like a child. Are you leading the woke charge for Michigan removing the best coach ever for the wolfie boys from their history?
