This is an interesting question. What is the number where it becomes worth it to you? They’ve done huge damage to the economy, how many people is that worth? I’m not sure how you decide this sort of stuff.
What is the number of lives we’ve saved? The disease isn’t going away, we’re all going to be exposed in the next year.

No, 98-99% won’t even know they’ve had it, or deal with it like a cold or flu. The other 1-2% will require medical attention.
At some point the damages of the reaction to the public outweighs the damages from the virus.
The panic came when he did a complete 180 on the seriousness of this virus. He went from saying it would be going away soon...It's just a Democrat hoax to suddenly declaring it a National Emergency. That's when the stock markets and all his followers started freaking out and panic buying/selling. The folks like me who were listening to the scientists 3 weeks ago and don't believe a word he says have been slowly buying just a little extra in normal weekly grocery trips.
He went from telling people to "just relax...it will be gone soon" to "It's the Chinese Flu and it may be going into July and August...It's bad".
That is why folks are in panic mode.
Most scientists are saying it's got a 2 to 4 percent mortality rate, but that doesn't tell the whole story. How many more people will die because they show up in an ER with a heart attack/stroke/appendicitis etc and don't get the care they need because all of the doctors are overwhelmed with dying flu patients and there is not enough respirators? How many people will die because the surgery or procedures that are deemed elective like a routine colonoscopy are postponed because the hospital is too full or maybe nurses are too sick to even come to work?? What if that elective colonoscopy results in a missed cancer diagnosis?? What if an appendicitis surgery is delayed two or three hours?
If even 5% of our population is impacted it could potentially result in up to 15 million deaths in America.
We will recover financially, but those people will be gone forever. This is the time for hard decisions.

You really need to go through an actual timeline of the disease, what the Chinese and WHO was telling the world and when.
The first documented case in the US was January 21. Trump shutdown travel on the 27th and then declared a health emergency on January 31.

Those elective procedures being postponed aren’t out of necessity now, it’s because of the fear factor. There isn’t a documented case in my area, but hospitals stopped all colonoscopies.
The disease is going to run its course, be it now or later. This notion that we’re going to be overrun countrywide is insane.
