No agenda. As to credibility, a ‘68 grad, student athlete, supported team at most games at Walsh & Meadowlands when I lived outside Hartford, Ct. until ‘84. Oh, and I volunteered scouting opponents and recruiting for both RAF & Hoddy (John Sealey for one). Also played AAU ball & coached for years. So I have meager b-ball knowledge.
Until Nil, most of my posts were positive unless a situation dictated otherwise, which was rare. Was proud of our student athletes, several of whom I’m friends with. My posts have rarely been negative about any player unless it involved something unsportsmanlike. I was critical of PJ for his treatment of players on and off the court, but not his coaching or game prep. That was obvious to most, but I learned a lot from his players! Don’t believe I negatively posted about Sha’s coaching, I may have about his yelling at his players. If I didn’t, I should have.
NIL changed all that. It changed the “team” concept. No longer is the goal to win, represent SH and graduate. Now it’s “show me the $$” for a season & move on. If SH wants to pretend it’s still a major b-ball school fine. It’s not and probably never will be again. (Hope I’m wrong) That’s why it’s difficult to post anything positive other than “yahoo we beat a team that can’t even match our payments to players”. Participation trophies/posts are now in vogue. That will change shortly when SH starts playing vs the “big boys” and reality sets in. Sorry if the truth hurts and some are offended by it. I’ll let this season speak for itself.
