obviously it'll never get close to happening but I can't imagine how fun it would be having even the slightest chance of having sex with Carrie underwood on Mars. Just catching a sniff of it would be exhilarating

South Carolina doing their best UK impersonation with this coaching search. Helluva job. Getting denied and Clemson going to playoff. Hehe.

Can we field a team where over 60% of our starting linemen have ,KY after their name? No

Also, we try to hire Bill Parcells in 2003 and fail (obvs) then scramble for Brooks. Probably could have looked at a defensive coordinator (like we later hired in Stoops!) at a big time school (like we later hired in Stoops!) with recruiting ties in OH (like we later hired in Stoops!) named Mark Dantonio.

Nice little surprise seeing UNC get cheated last night. Hope they go to the E8 and lose on a botched basket interference call.

Oh, that's all of the therapeutic oil stuff. Supposedly the different scents relieve different symptoms and that you can blend different ones to get relief from certain problems like insomnia, anxiety, etc., by putting it in your humidifier or diffuser while you sleep. Whatever. The closest I get to anything like that is that if I have a bad sinus infection or cold, I dab peppermint oil under my nose so that it opens my sinuses. Works like a champ. I don't feel like I can solve world hunger or will sleep better, but I can atleast breathe.

No way. It's legit. Your mom and her friends are going to improve the health of everyone they know while becoming rich beyond their wildest dreams. Win-win.

I googled "DoTerra scam" and found a pretty good and funny breakdown: LINK

You can buy around 10x the amount of essential oil for the same price btw, not 5x.

If we fired Stoops after next season and he took a job a year later like Muschamp, with a structured buyout, Stoops would be getting $3.75 million that first season to not coach here, $4.0 million the next season to not coach here and finally $4.25 million to not coach here in the third and final year based upon the 100% guarantee of the numbers in his contract. So, Florida is paying $1.26 million in a year that would presumably cost Kentucky $4.0 million. It's a bad contract for the university and no amount of being buddies with the athletic director will change that.

Steve Kragthorpe was bought out at Louisville after year three for $2.2 million total and he and Jurich were great friends. Mark Richt was bought out for $4.4 million. Mark Stoops would be $15.5 million this year and $12.25 million after next year. We would have to wait until after the 2018 season for Stoops' buyout to become lower than Mark Richt's when it would reach $4.25 million.

The renegotiation of Stoops deal occurred during the 2014 season right after we had won the South Carolina game during our hot start. It was at the absolute height of his bargaining position and also the very first chance he had to really cash in here. We negotiated out of fear and weakness. The end result was a contract extension some five months after the prior extension because the coach and his agent sensed weakness and basically robbed the athletic department blind. Stoops doesn't have to win another game here and will walk away with life changing money.

In hindsight, it looks like the coach's first priority in the middle of the season was getting himself paid. That's troubling, especially in light of the fact that he had just gotten the standard re-up in May that would have sufficed for most in his situation. If he were a star professional athlete looking for a better deal some five months later, during a hot streak, in the middle of the season, he'd be roasted.

Four years at Florida and Will Muschamp's buyout was $6.3 million from an athletic department far wealthier than this one. That's basically half of what Mark Stoops would be next season. Muschamp was the hotshot defensive coordinator at a major program prior to becoming Florida's head coach, just like Stoops was prior to being named coach here.

Florida wasn't worried about losing its head coach to better jobs, bub. Everyone wanted to "invest" in football and when it was a bad investment first to jump to the other side. Coaches are raking ADs all over the country not just here. Ts. No idea why anyone would give a **** what Stoops buy out is other than to just *****. If he flops next season we'll pay it.

Wonder if we could outsource our fans to a program that has good football but small fan bases. That may be our most valuable asset.

South Carolina really **** the bed here. Muschamp was t e r r I b l e at Florida. I mean all systems failure. And they had 3 months to do this. Wow. I mean, I'm glad because they are going to be awful, but that's a really weird bad hire, imo. Also, can we fire stoops and hire Brohm, like now? Before Bobby Petrino wrecks his dodge magnum and has to resign?

Welp, folks. The verdict has been established here in Jefferson County. UL's backcourt is better than UK's.

DEAR PLEASE GOOD LORD CAN WE PLEASE BEAT THEM ON 12/26 BEFORE I GIVE UP ON SPORTS.

Physco I mean Muschamp did not do crap at Florida. And chipmunk comes in with his first year and goes to the sec championship. You would think USC Jr would look for ANYBODY else. But whatever maybe, hopefully this helps us.

First, I can't be the only optimist in this thread. Not sure what's up but need you back over here. Got the whole deal off kilter. Get your head back right.

Second, just like it was last year. Look at Chris and Terry. I called this week's ago, and while they are better than I thought, this development was as predictable as the sun coming up.

not excusing the huge buyout for stoops, but EVERY coach has a similarly outrageous clause in his deal. ive been saying this for years now. it's not the huge salaries these coaches make, it's the "gotcha" that's hidden on the back end.

i don't know, maybe we should just be the ONLY d1 school in america that won't offer a buyout. should help us tremendously in our next coaching search, since we're already in such an advantaged position, negotiation wise.

Anth, I'll be back.

Need to take of these fools on 12/26 and we will.

Make it hard as heck for Lee and Lewis to get theirs and the others aren't beating us.

At least Mark Stoops will be getting some experience in the national playoffs this year, on the sidelines with his brother. #whynot#allin#dumpsterfire.

No, we should just have a buyout that's market value, not one that dwarfs the going rate. It should not cost Kentucky the same amount of money to fire Mark Stoops that it would cost LSU to fire Les Miles or twice what it cost Florida to fire Muschamp.

The deal about losing the coach is a red herring. Louisville is certainly a school that was terrified of losing their head coach to another program, but Kragthorpe was bought out for just over $2 million. Plus if someone wants to hire Stoops away, they wouldn't owe us a dime.

1. Give coaches reasonable extensions at the market rate;

2. Give them favorable buyout terms at the market rate.

Mark Stoops could still be an overwhelming success here and we never have to buy him out. My issue is the fact that we have needlessly and foolishly put ourselves in a position that takes that option off the table with an unproven coach.

Here's the truth of the matter, if he wouldn't sign a new deal with terms similar to Muschamp at Florida we were NEVER going to keep him here under any circumstances if the right suitor came calling. So, why screw ourselves over in the event he is a loser of a hire?
