Is Al really here talking about Britt/Underwood at RU in 2008 and the Miami team of 2001? 15 and 22 years ago? And that’s the template we’re following? Game has changed a bit since then.
So you think because you spend lots of money donating you can post whatever drivel you want and people who spend less can’t? That sounds elitist. You’re really full of it now, telling me what to do.
You feel so passionate about this, you should go to the NJ corporates and tell them to support NJ team instead of telling message board people to STFU.![]()

Worse, he's giving Schiano, who was at Miami for 18 months, credit for their NC team, so much that it means he should be able to reproduce that feat at Rutgers--never mind how far short he fell for v 1.0.Is Al really here talking about Britt/Underwood at RU in 2008 and the Miami team of 2001? 15 and 22 years ago? They'd won at least 4 by then. How many NCs had Miami won before Schiano ever got there?
So it's probably safe to say that any good DC could've recruited sh*t tons of talent at Miami. They'd won at least 4 by then.
I haven't seen much of this evolution on the offensive side of the ball in terms of philosophy, development or execution. The game has evolved and so has Greg schiano. What hasn’t changed is that superior talent wins out, and we have to do what we can to obtain more of it.

Basically we have 2 WRs running out in each play with the ball going to the RB anyway. Vintage 70s Pittsburgh Steelers.I haven't seen much of this evolution on the offensive side of the ball in terms of philosophy, development or execution.
I can say wtf I want about Schiano or anything else. And like Hobbs will listen to you and your posts or money apparently.I didn’t tell you to STFU. I said you don’t have say on whether Greg Schiano is retained, big difference.
Wouldn’t be the first time people laughed in your face.I’m not telling NJ Corporates anything because I know how things work, and they would laugh in my face. If fans won’t support Rutgers, why should corporates? Corporates aren’t going to do what fans won’t. Honda is a prominent supporter of Ohio State Football because fans have built a powerhouse football program. Rutgers fans have to do the same, otherwise corporates won’t support.
Please tell us what Schiano is doing that has he has learned from his evolution? The game has evolved and so has Greg schiano. What hasn’t changed is that superior talent wins out, and we have to do what we can to obtain more of it.
It's much like Kyle Flood's evolution into a great recruiter at Texas. It's all about location. It's much easier to recruit 4 and 5 star talent at programs with not only resources, but with championships in their past. Flood didn't recruit at RU the way he's recruiting at Texas. So it's probably safe to say that any good DC could've recruited sh*t tons of talent at Miami.
Please tell us what Schiano is doing that has he has learned from his evolution?
He’s doing the same thing as he did in 2000s
It works when Lynn Swann and John Stallworth are the WRs and Franco Harris is the RB and you have an actual OL that blocks people. The Johnny Langan Direct Snap Meathead Line Plunge Series is not nearly as effective or evolutionary.Basically we have 2 WRs running out in each play with the ball going to the RB anyway. Vintage 70s Pittsburgh Steelers.
You will get theFrom 2010-2020, Kansas was the worst team in Power 5 going 20-108. They got 6 wins and went to a bowl game in the current coaches 2nd season.
James Franklin took over Vanderbilt who was 31-76 from 2002-2010 and went 6-7 their first year, then 9 wins his next two years.
Speaking of Vanderbilt, Clark Lea is slowly but surely rebuilding that program, going 5-7 in his second season after taking over a program who went 27-55 after Franklin left.
Mike Locksley took over a Maryland program who went 38-61 from 2011-2018 and have taken them to two straight bowl wins in his third/fourth seasons.
And there’s Illinois where absolutely NO ONE GAVE A RATS ARSE… PERIOD from 2005-2020, going 26-97 with 6 coaches. Bret Bilema took over and promptly went 5-7, 8-5 his first two years there.
Lots of coaches who take over programs don’t need a 6-8 year rebuild and just have done more with less in the BCS and CFP eras. But it’s always SCHIANO NEEDS TIME, ONLY SCHIANO KNOWS HOW TO COACH AT RUTGERS, or whatever.
you predicted 4-8 so I guess we don’t have a seasoned professional coachThe offense is no longer going to be a cluster because we hired seasoned professional Kirk Ciarocca to run it.
Kirk Ciarocca has had two 1K receivers in the same season while at Western Michigan and Minnesota. He adapts the playbook to the talent onhand.
Schiano is not averse to throwing the ball. In 2008, we had Tiquan Underwood and Kenny Britt who caught a ton of passes, and Britt was drafted in the first round. There will be more to come.
He paid up for and hired an experienced OC who has had a strong track record of success in the Big Ten at Minnesota.
You just said: “If fans don’t care enough about the football program, why should corporations? Ironically, because there is so little fan support there is very little corporate support. Corporations think in terms of ROI, and the business case to support Rutgers is very weak.”According to Hobbs they are working on designing the football Fieldhouse, which should boost recruiting. Last weeks practice was attended by NIL contributors. So they are doing what they can to do better.
He’s talking out both sides of him mouth in this thread. You will get the

It’s a free country and people say and respond however they want. I would laugh in your face if you told me that Schiano would be fired if he doesn’t win 6 games.
Took him 4 years to hire KC. And IMO, there were better OCs available but it took GS months to hire any OC.

Make up your mind.
The same Kirk Ciarocca that Schiano fired after the disastrous co-OC experiment flamed out in a flurry of sacks and futile Mohamed Sanu runs up the middle with no blocking? McNulty had 2 1,000 yard receivers, a 2,000 yard rusher, and a 3,000 yard passer, and he wasn't a good OC. That team had a lot more talent than this one does. I don't think throwing the ball as much as that team did was Schiano"s idea. The offense is no longer going to be a cluster because we hired seasoned professional Kirk Ciarocca to run it.

And we need someone who can recruit well at Rutgers--and someone who can make the most of non-blue chip talent, which is not the same thing as someone who can win a NC with 5 star rosters. It's much like Kyle Flood's evolution into a great recruiter at Texas. It's all about location. It's much easier to recruit 4 and 5 star talent at programs with not only resources, but with championships in their past. The idea that it takes boatloads of money to be successful in college football won't leave the minds of some of our posters. Yes, you need super tanker loads to be Alabama/Georgia/Ohio State/Clemson. You don't need so much money to score a few TDs against Maryland, though.Took him 4 years to hire KC. And IMO, there were better OCs available but it took GS months to hire any OC.

And yet teams without brand new facilities manage to win games, like Marshall, who beat Notre Dame last year. Tell me, how many hundreds of millions does Schiano need to beat an 87th ranked team like Nebraska? We were told ad nauseum that only Schiano can recruit at Rutgers--Jersey guy blah blah blah--and that's why we needed him. Now we're told he CAN'T recruit and needs more money. That goal post moves a lot.I’m glad you brought all these situations up, because the common thread is that they all recently built state of the Art football facilities.
Kansas prior coach was Les Miles, who did a reasonable job of recruiting, and they recently built new football facilities. Vanderbilt plays in the SEC and has had the resources to compete, and has decent facilities.
Lovie Smith did a reasonable job of recruiting, which was helped by newer facilities.
Chris Ash did a dreadful job recruiting, which is why Schiano was starting from scratch, and why he got an 8 year contract. This is a big job, which will likely take time. A new Football Fieldhouse would accelerate the process.
Shouldn’t take four years to “lay a foundation” when it has been done in at least two at worse places. The hardest part of the build is done. The foundation is laid. Need additional pieces on offense to make it work.
KANSAS AND VANDERBILT HAD STATE OF THE ART FACILITIES????? THEY HAVE TWO OF THE WORSE STADIUMS IN P5. THEY ARE NOW REBUILDING THEIR STADIUMS, NOT IN YEAR ONE.I’m glad you brought all these situations up, because the common thread is that they all recently built state of the Art football facilities.

Rutgers worse than Vanderbilt, Kansas, Illinois since say 2015?It’s Rutgers, Tico, and things are more difficult here.

NATIONAL CHAMPION LES MILES DID SUCH A GREAT JOB RECRUITING THAT HE WAS 3-18 HIS TWO YEARS AT KANSAS.

That Kansas facility was built in 2008. Wasn't that before the Hale Center?
Where is the funding for this new facility coming from? If our current $$ support is so low?

Those palatial facilities must be the reason that Kansas stomped RU's *** until **** squeezed out a few years ago.
Ok Al you won’t get off the GS no matter what. So let me ask you this, if GS doesn’t win more then 44 games in his 8 year will you admit that you were wrong about him, no more excusesI’m glad you brought all these situations up, because the common thread is that they all recently built state of the Art football facilities.

Kansas has a real coach now.Next time we face Kansas we are going to beat their ***, so it’s all good.
