So have we heard anything yet in his timeline to return? Surgery was only a week ago.
Hopefully both.…….now is it Pierre or Yates??
Garrison may only play 4I think next we see Garrison enter the portal, as a result of this. (which if JQ is healthy & plays even at his FR level is a good trade-off)
So let's HOPE that JQ is ready to play come Nov, else our C may be the FR (Moreno) with a backup of 6'7 PF Dioubate.
He was a great get the first time. He’s a better get this time.
Pope is killing it in recruiting!!
What’s the timeline on that recovery nowadays?
Says the person who thinks March 19th was 5 days ago.Says the ole bastard born in 75 with a call sign of fuzz, LOL
March 19th was not a week ago, this thread and all the other ones about him from last night pointed out the timeline is September. So have we heard anything yet in his timeline to return? Surgery was only a week ago.
Does this qualify as Pope delivering on his superstars comment? Me thinks so.

It is also likely pope knows alvaro is not likely coming, so he pursues jq insteadIf he actually plays. Big risk, and then there's his dad.

Amari had some of the best per 40 numbers, was top 5 in defensive rebounding percentage in the entire country, ran PG to beat a top 5 team when we we were without all 3 PGs and had one of the only triple doubles in our history. Andrew Carr helped us beat a final four team and Gonzaga until he was injured and then fought hard to get back on the floor and gave his all while injured majority of the season. Absolutely no reason to degrade them at all. They came here to realize the dream of putting on a UK uniform. Set an NCAA record and fought for us.Andrew Carr and Amari Williams are not the UK standard going forward.
Pope knows how a UK team is supposed to be built.
20 days is about as close to 3 weeks as possible. Your timeline is 300% of the actual timelineOh man I can't believe how off I was saying it was a week ago.
Let me correct this gaffe I made.
"Two weeks ago and change". Lol.
20 days is about as close to 3 weeks as possible. Your timeline is 300% of the actual timeline
Correct. Williams was the 3rd best rebounder (statistically) at UK over the past 40+ years, behind only Oscar & Cousins.Amari had some of the best per 40 numbers, was top 5 in defensive rebounding percentage in the entire country, ran PG to beat a top 5 team when we we were without all 3 PGs and had one of the only triple doubles in our history. SIAP
From eye test, his rebounding is not that goodCorrect. Williams was the 3rd best rebounder (statistically) at UK over the past 40+ years, behind only Oscar & Cousins.
What’s Kam Williams then?Yes, we needed to get more athletic, bigger, stronger, faster, tougher. But we also need to have skilled players too. So far all of our add's have been on the athletic side. I think it's best to have a good MIX of athletes and skilled guys. We really need a very good 3pt shooter, at least 1. We have none currently.
There's next to zero chance he's ready for full contact basketball by September. But conditioning and such should be able to happen along those timelines.I hope he can even play. ACL surgery .
Last word was he should be ready by September.
Couple months to get back in playing shape and no telling how long till he fully trust not blowing it out again.

Didn't degrade them at all just stated a fact.Amari had some of the best per 40 numbers, was top 5 in defensive rebounding percentage in the entire country, ran PG to beat a top 5 team when we we were without all 3 PGs and had one of the only triple doubles in our history. Difference is Carr was legitimately injured most of the season. Not fair to say that about him. Amari was good for us too. My apologies, there's a lot of wild talk on here since our season ended.Didn't degrade them at all just stated a fact.
You could make the same points about Pelphrey and Feldhaus but flash forward 4 years and you have Anderson and Walker playing their roles
Pitino got the ball rolling with the Unforgettables but he got a title with superior athletes.
I'm going to cry about all those losses in September. Us UK fans have it downright awful. We care so much about those September games. I just wish he could hit the 3 at a higher clip. Other than that I love the pickupThere's next to zero chance he's ready for full contact basketball by September. But conditioning and such should be able to happen along those timelines.
But agreed, it's gonna take a bit to trust it. I think February is a fair place to see the pre-injury JQ on the court. And for me, that's a win.
We go the SNAP! The CRACKLE! The POP! And now the BOOM!Boom
