Interesting. Of course would love to know who voted yes or no. But on to next year.

I was looking forward to some more SHU hoops, but surprisingly, I am not really bummed out with no post season. Thinking back to the NIT win, I thought for sure it would be a catapult for us into the next season. We got catapulted but right to the dumpster after key guys left and we had what we had last season. So, I'm thinking the posters who were saying use this time to really work on next year's team were on to something. It sounds like Shaheen intends to do just that. Getting my stash of popcorn ready as we watch all this unfold.

Jerry has become a touch sloppy in his articles. He says dar gets another year because of juco...well he was a div II player that played 10 games as a freshman. The lead beat should know this.

So does that mean Dar is eligible to return next year? No mention of him in Zags article.

Geez, didn’t SJ decline the NIT last year? That will never be mentioned in this context.
Not quite the conf player of year struggled and kadary was in foul trouble and they lost to Arkansas in 2nd round. Yes year before their loss to ucon was their end of the line

The Crown is now turning into a Joke. Not just SHU decided to decline.

Teams being announced now.

Don't understand the announcement of SHU. That's obviously a mistake.

Thank god the RU athletic department is flush with cash to send the team to vegas. I guess they benefit from the organizers paying expenses.

Turning down an opportunity to play in the postseason in any tournament is stupid and short sighted. Players who don't want to play more or practice more have a poor work ethic. Rutgers did the right thing and will probably beat Creighton.

Also Rutgers has a full-time GM for the men's program that will presumably be working the phones and negotiating new deals with agents during this pre-portal period, thus allowing Pike to focus (most) of his time on coaching.

The only way to make that event have some juice is to offer both school's NIL prize money and individual players prize money.

This tournament is just as useless as 90% of the Bowl games in football. Why risk getting injured for some participation trophy that no one will watch or remember outside of the 40 minutes it takes to play the game.
Time will be better used in re-recruiting your best players and scouring the transfer portal for next year.
