I’m so happy that Sha teaches the kids to play tough.
Here’s St John’s Dillon Mitchell on toughness being a necessity moving forward…
“In March, toughness wins. It’s not about the more talented team. And even in the BIG EAST, toughness wins games, so we definitely have to be tougher.”
What does that even mean? Tough does not mean giving up open 3's does it? Tough has nothing to do with having a great offense does it? Does it mean getting called for a lot of fouls?
To me it is a worthless word for BB.
Teach kids to play "D". Teach kids to box out. Teach kids to keep their hands up in the face of the offensive player. Teach kids to talk to one another on the court and not yap at the opposing team. Teach kids to run plays to score. Teach kids to make free throws. To me that is more meaningful.
