A small tidbit. I knew Tom Konchalski very well in my younger years. We talked at times on the phone.

One particular conversation I remember well. Konchalski on one of his reports rated Avent a 4. That stunned me and I told him that IMO Avent was a no doubt about it 5.

In all my years back then dealing with Tom, it was the only time I was right and he was wrong. :p

Such great memories of Anthony Avent. To me he is hands down the best PF we ever had in my years watching the Hall. Power, touch, great rebounder and passer. He had a long NBA career playing and coaching. We should have honored him years ago and I'm glad they are doing it now - well done.

Some of my favorite moments are when he was a freshman when PJ used to sub in him, Volcy and Pooky and they would come into the game with incredible energy. I still think to this day that PJ played our starters just a few minutes too long in the final against Michigan and if he went with the sub package a few more minutes our starters have their legs and win going away in OT. But that is probably just me and PJ got us to within a hair of winning if it weren't for a bad shooting night by Gaze and a horrible foul call by Clougherty. I enjoyed watching the energy our second line brought to the game that year. They were hungry to get in and make a difference.

91 BET finals. Terry is knocked on his *** and is strattling the baseline on his back. AA is in the background. Mourning has to get past Terry and seems to be thinking of stepping over him (or on him?)

AA has a "you better not be even thinking of dissing Terry in any way" look on his face. We will never know what Alonzo was thinking. But he walked around Terry.

My apologies for telling this story for the 30th time.
