Perhaps the greatest marketer and hype man of this era
It doesn't make sense to do stuff like this if you're not successful. Otherwise you're simply showing off all of your flaws.Always has been. One of his keys to success wherever he goes. He immediately elevates the profile of the program. Whether at places where college sports are king or locations more pro-centric.
Programs are becoming increasingly visible in this online, streaming, social media world. In-season "Hard Knocks" type programs, like we saw Arkansas and St John's do last year. Docu-series on networks and online platforms. Streaming their media day on places like ESPN. Open practices that can be consumed by fans, press. Exhibition games that don't have the "closed door" label attached, which essentially lets staffs "leak" to insiders all kinds of positive spin, instead of allowing fans to just view it for themselves. No surprise that most of the ones doing this stuff are having success.
Jerry has always been loyal to fellow media members when their respectful questions are blown off by coaches/managers. That why the coach he disliked the MOST in the Big East was Jim Boeheim.Wow pretty pointed comments about the Jets by Jerry. Guess he isn’t trying to get access to the Jets practices, lol
Agreed, no doubt, on answering the question. But you know as well as I do he would never put something like that out publicly about Sha or the Hall, irrespective of the merits of a question or a response. Look at how he treated Sha last year despite everything that went on.Jerry has always been loyal to fellow media members when their respectful questions are blown off by coaches/managers. That why the coach he disliked the MOST in the Big East was Jim Boeheim.
Glenn had a brutal day in a brutal season but the question was relevant and he should have answered it instead of dismissing it.
He did, and I heard it because you posted here. But I'm not sure that podcast reaches as big of an audience as his Twitter posts, and it will still far less harsh and direct than what he posted above regarding Glenn and Woody. I get it though, which is why my post was more of a joking fashion than anything else. He needs access.Yet he did criticize him recently in his podcast for lack of access regarding the program and fairly so. That got results as we have seen better availability this season.
