Yeah he faceplanted pretty hard from Murray tripping him as he went across the crease. He didn't brace himself for the fall because he was still trying to put the puck on net as he went down. If Sharangovich didn't put that in, the Devils would have drawn yet another OT powerplay. In the one replay you can see him pick his head up and look towards the ref, so I think he's probably fine. Was Jack banged up on that last play?

All it took for the Devils to turn it around was for someone to move OOSNico asked him if he was ok in the celebration and Jack smiled and nodded yes
Devils outplayed a pretty good team tonight

He actually put on the ice, only a few minutes into the OT…Gallant is a complete idiot.
Hard to figure Millers regression, he’s completely lost.
3 on 3 strategy is comical.
Trouba and Miller both have no handle right now
That is ******* criminal. He actually put on the ice, only a few minutes into the OT…
Vesey-Goodrow-Trouba
It is clear that we are hearing full speed into an overpay of picks and young players for Patrick Kane, using the justification that our RW isn’t producing enough, after Gallant gives the RW top 6 minutes to Goodrow and Vesey.
2018 draft pick. Swiss kid, 6'5", been quietly developing in USHL. Last year was his first full time with Utica/NJ.Who’s this kid Schmid?

Akira was up a little last year. He is one of those mid-round picks the Devils like long term. He looks much better this year.Who’s this kid Schmid?

It was very hit or miss last year with the Devils. Basically he filled in a little bit, when we lost the fill ins to injury last year. He does have good minor league stats. So far so good this year. He looks like a NHL goalie, not a minor leaguer!i don’t think I remember that stint
He had good stats in Utica

Before his NJD work this year, I expected him to be a career minor leaguer. He has been impressive.
If I didn't know better, I would say the Devils are in the early stages of a magical year.Balanced scoring again
I think you are way off base with Kakko. His personal scoring numbers have been invisible, but he is already one of the better defensive and possession players in the league, and when he plays in the top 6 the team scores more goals and gives up fewer goals than when other players replace Kakko. I worry more about how the team plays with him on the ice than his personal numbers. He has scored as a younger player and has a shot that looks like he should score more, so at some point he will score more and be an elite wing on the top line (even if he doesn’t have huge counting stats).Being completely honest.
Let’s assume Shesterkin is back to his old self based on his last 3 games and will now start stealing games again the rest of the season.
Trochek is a really good player, the Rangers are going to start winning again.
My question is where are they really going with Kakko and Laf continuing their 80 game season boring, invisible play?
These guys are minus players who go weeks between goals or even points.
I know Krup hates taking on big contracts, but the reality is these two guys are boring minus players who rarely flash and can’t shoot the puck.
These two guys are not inexperienced anymore
But isn't that supposed to be his #1 job? The scoring part from that position.I think you are way off base with Kakko. On the hand, I am coming around to your opinion on Lafreniere. I don’t see the flashes in his play that make me expect big things from him like I did from Chytil and Kakko. Despite hype, he is looking more like a solid middle six forward at best, which is poor considering the expectations and that NOT winning that lottery would have allowed the Rangers to draft a young center and not have spent on Trochek (and have the cap flexibility to add something now without hamstringing the team).
Even keeping the kid live together isn’t the best thing right now (Kakko should be 1sf line RW), but they are probably doing that hoping something sparks in Lafreniere.
When he plays on a line, the line’s GF v GA is better than it is with other right wingers. The whole point of the game is out scoring the other team so that is the most important stat to me.But isn't that supposed to be his #1 job? The scoring part from that position.
Or at least eventually be his #1.
Devils are unreal ! I was at game tonight. Sold out but crowd was rather subdued.
Just think in 1-2 years when the younger Hughes and Nemac are ready etc. This squad is going to be terrific during the 2020s and its model to win is sustainable
Next time if you guys could do that in regulation and not throw Toronto another free point that would be great, OK thanks....Isles just stormed from behind in Toronto to win in OT.
It's too bad that Tavares wasn't on the ice for the game winner.
