Was Jack banged up on that last play?
Yeah he faceplanted pretty hard from Murray tripping him as he went across the crease. He didn't brace himself for the fall because he was still trying to put the puck on net as he went down. If Sharangovich didn't put that in, the Devils would have drawn yet another OT powerplay. In the one replay you can see him pick his head up and look towards the ref, so I think he's probably fine.

He did have his arm up too.

Gallant is a complete idiot.
Hard to figure Millers regression, he’s completely lost.
3 on 3 strategy is comical.
Trouba and Miller both have no handle right now

Gallant still hasn’t figured out this is a no time and space league.
He has our forwards playing like defenseman in the neutral zone instead of attacking the puck.
The whole strategy lends itself to wide open drop passes

I'll be going to the Rock for the Islanders' game there on the 9th.
Maybe the Devils will cool off by that time.
It's a game that cracks me up when the Devils' fans chant:"Rangers suck",as both fan bases in the arena that night are in agreement.

The game will mark my return to the Rock,my last appearance there being in Feb. 2020.
I was banned from there for not taking the Time Released Jonestown Jab.
That ban really ticked me off when I was unable to go to the joint Journey/Toto concert 2 days before the ban was lifted earlier this year.I notice that neither band is returning there next year.Hopefully Baraka has learned something.

He actually put on the ice, only a few minutes into the OT…

Vesey-Goodrow-Trouba

It is clear that we are hearing full speed into an overpay of picks and young players for Patrick Kane, using the justification that our RW isn’t producing enough, after Gallant gives the RW top 6 minutes to Goodrow and Vesey.

Some inside info from Larry Brooks.
Goodrow and Vesey staying up in top 6 because Drury is demanding kid line stay together.
Technically it makes sense to be able to throw that line out there after special teams top 6 combinations….if they can pick their play up! Laf and Kakko are not scoring.

i don’t think I remember that stint

He had good stats in Utica
It was very hit or miss last year with the Devils. Basically he filled in a little bit, when we lost the fill ins to injury last year. He does have good minor league stats. So far so good this year. He looks like a NHL goalie, not a minor leaguer!

Before his NJD work this year, I expected him to be a career minor leaguer. He has been impressive.

Being completely honest.
Let’s assume Shesterkin is back to his old self based on his last 3 games and will now start stealing games again the rest of the season.
Trochek is a really good player, the Rangers are going to start winning again.
My question is where are they really going with Kakko and Laf continuing their 80 game season boring, invisible play?
These guys are minus players who go weeks between goals or even points.
I know Krup hates taking on big contracts, but the reality is these two guys are boring minus players who rarely flash and can’t shoot the puck.
These two guys are not inexperienced anymore

I think you are way off base with Kakko. His personal scoring numbers have been invisible, but he is already one of the better defensive and possession players in the league, and when he plays in the top 6 the team scores more goals and gives up fewer goals than when other players replace Kakko. I worry more about how the team plays with him on the ice than his personal numbers. He has scored as a younger player and has a shot that looks like he should score more, so at some point he will score more and be an elite wing on the top line (even if he doesn’t have huge counting stats).

On the hand, I am coming around to your opinion on Lafreniere. I don’t see the flashes in his play that make me expect big things from him like I did from Chytil and Kakko. Despite hype, he is looking more like a solid middle six forward at best, which is poor considering the expectations and that NOT winning that lottery would have allowed the Rangers to draft a young center and not have spent on Trochek (and have the cap flexibility to add something now without hamstringing the team).

Even keeping the kid live together isn’t the best thing right now (Kakko should be 1sf line RW), but they are probably doing that hoping something sparks in Lafreniere.

But isn't that supposed to be his #1 job? The scoring part from that position.

Or at least eventually be his #1.

When he plays on a line, the line’s GF v GA is better than it is with other right wingers. The whole point of the game is out scoring the other team so that is the most important stat to me.

He makes a lot of great plays that result in goals but not points for him, Keeps or takes possession along the right boards, the puck gets back to Fox who gets it cross ice to Mika whose interplay with Kreider results in a goal. The goal wouldn’t have happened without Kakko’s play, and he doesn't even get an assist, but the important thing is that they scored.

In Ranger news:
  • Pavel Buchnevich has 87 points (34 goals and 53 assists) in 85 reg season games with St Louis. Sammy Blais has 0 goals and 7 assists in 30 games for the Rangers.
  • Vesey and Goodrow led the team in 5v5 TOI against the Sharks.
  • Julien Gauthier draws penalties at the 2nd highest rate in the league, Gallant gives him 9 minutes a game on the 4th line.

The Devils have hit a baker's dozen in consecutive wins! Yeah baby yeah. A lot of improvement. I personally love the effort on the defensive end!

Devils are unreal ! I was at game tonight. Sold out but crowd was rather subdued.
Just think in 1-2 years when the younger Hughes and Nemac are ready etc. This squad is going to be terrific during the 2020s and its model to win is sustainable

Isles just stormed from behind in Toronto to win in OT.
It's too bad that Tavares wasn't on the ice for the game winner.

Where were your seats?

One of my buds that I used to tailgate and go to games with at the meadowlands , said the crowd was fired up. Maybe it’s where you sit.

I give him credit for dedication , he moved up to Beacon , NY and still attends a good amount of games

The Devils have back to back games wrapping around Christmas at the Rock.
Tickets for the second meeting are much cheaper than they are for the first.

Next time if you guys could do that in regulation and not throw Toronto another free point that would be great, OK thanks....
