excellent episode, just finished watching it. I think the younger strong is such an evil fk but can't believe the dragon did that as I thought they would protect them no matter what. Interesting turn on that part but overall very good episode.

There were no naked chicks.

Since House has complete source material, it won't s the bed like GOT did.
Well.. the source material is kinda like the outline the GOT showrunners had for the last couple of seasons.... so I don't think you should be fooled by the "complete source material" idea and the recent episode should actually confirm that thought because it was very much like an outline hitting bullet points.... which is how the "complete source material" was created.

In short.. this last episode of very much like the first full BAD season of GOT. Some good stuff but there was little justification as to why characters would do the things they did... unlike the early seasons of GOT and the actual novels they were based on.

The show is just OK for me. Not a required watch due to the NFL games on Sunday night. I DVR and watch later. I understand why on all the time jumps, but doesn't really explain character development.

The only thing I got right going into this episode was aemond targaryen getting the dragon.
I also knew he was going to lose his eye. Great job with Laenor and the bait and switch. That is actually a bit different than the source material (which as GRRM says, is a historical account that isn't 100% accurate).

I don’t understand the Rhaenyra and Daemon angle. If the idea is that both suffered great losses and were seeking comfort in each other I can buy that. But otherwise, seems a little crazy that those two meet up on the beach and bang after everything that’s gone wrong. That whole relationship seems far too easy considering what’s at stake.

I haven’t read the source material so wouldn’t know details in advance.

from the coming attractions it looks like we are in for another time jump.

Yes, I think this will be one last time jump (which will include the King's death). R and D will have a few kids by then as well.

Rhaenyra and Daemon have had a connection practically their entire lives. They didn't see each other for 10 years and had unfinished business (via the Fleabottom incident). Everything makes perfect sense to me (but I am familiar with the source materials, so it all was expected).

They would have gotten married 10 years ago if the King allowed it.

I hear you. Just seems too easy given the outrage it should create. I also think the Alicent scene went too far with the dagger. Everyone is going to stand around while the Queen is about to kill Rhaenyra? The show is def entertaining but the family dysfunction is starting to get old. Need another Crab Feeder plot to spice it up.

The family dysfunction is only getting started! Also, Alicent wasn't trying to kill R with the dagger, she was trying to cut out her son's eye in retribution. R blocked here.

If you can suppress your skepticism to enjoy a show with Flying Dragons can you go one more step for iffy plot decisions?

I find the fact that everyone has the same hair and the filming in low light in the last episode makes it difficult to see who is doing what.

Had to keep going back to see what exactly was happening.

I know it's a family trait but it does complicate the watching.

Of course this comes from a guy who confuses Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. LOL

You might be overestimating the outrage you expect. These nuts have been banging family members for a thousand years.

Just went back a rewatched episode 6. Helaena says he will have to close an eye when Alicent says you will get a dragon. Missed that tidbit the first time.

Aegon and Helena should also have kids. Let the Kinslaying commence! Lots of intimate scenes with great mood and dialog in last night's episode.

I just watched the last episode and found it hard to see, to the point I had to try and follow along with just the dialogue. Read up on it and it's the same director who did the dark almost unviewable episodes in Game of Thrones. I'm not buying a new TV for this dickhead because he wants to set a mood with darkness.

It was at night and on the beach. Of course it had to be dark. I think episodes are always brighter on the computer (via HBO MAX).

That’s what I did with the original series, GOT. Years later I binge watched the entire series and now think it’s the second best series I ever saw. Your choice but I would give the first season at least.

so I saw the first two and then skipped right over 3 and 4 into 5 and 6 and didnt miss a beat. Pretty sure nothing in 3/4 was relevant for me except some attempted lovemaking. Now I understand and now I like it. Havent seen 7 yet so I wont read too deep in this thread

feel sad for your choice. there is more to a story than what happened when... you might as well just read an outline. Maybe you were big on Cliff's Notes as a child.

oh.. wait.. do you mean THIS series you missed a couple episodes? In that case.. never mind. It seems clear to me that the show doesn't know how to properly flesh out characters and will not take the time to do so. Viewers need not pay close attention.. but this.. viewer malaise.. will actually lead to missing something they need viewers to notice.

GOT was much better for at least 3 seasons.

They brought that guy back? Wow.

I watched on my TV streaming through the APP on my phone and i could see clearly although the episode was a weird gloomy color. Not a natural color and added nothing.

Looks like streaming is the way to go. On cable you just saw outlines and shadows, during the medieval Michael Corleone baptism scene.

Agree, this show is average at best. Doesn't compare to GOT. The characters aren't compelling. Most of them could come and go and nobody would care. Some of the actors (like the King) are just plain bad.

Does anyone jump off the screen to you guys? Someone you really want to watch? Chaka was the best one and they got rid of her.

What I always find interesting (and ridiculous) is that producers know the audience for a show like this is primarily males, and what we typically like to watch are explosions, action, and cool mythical stuff. Yet, most of the plots seem driven by women characters and other than the Crab Feeder and Dragons what has the show really delivered to the demographic that actually watches it? It’s starting to remind me of a medieval Yellowstone. I simply don’t understand why Hollywood can’t make a f’in show without trying to check every single box and over-indexing on lead female characters. Would Hollywood make a series based on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and focus most of the storyline on lead male characters? Nope.

Ha. Crab Feeder was good. Should have kept him around a little longer.

Agree with what you are saying and its even more ridiculous because its a medieval like setting where women would have absolutely no say in how things go. The King would have killed the Queen for talking back to him about the kids fighting. Medieval Karen's. 😀

woke and your surprised?

good show but quickly losing interest as it's rushed, a little too ridiculous as you point out and overall just 'ok'

a good show to watch is 'the last kingdom'

Agree 100% on the Alicent scene. I guess I can suspend disbelief when it comes to a little kid that gets his eye/face sliced in half and stitched up as if nothing happened (even rested that side of his face on Alicent’s chest as the drama unfolded), but not only did the Queen make the King look like a fool by carrying on and embarrassed him, but she also stabbed the Princess/heir right in front of his eyes. Her head should have been on a spike.

They are "rushing" because we are still on the appetizer. The show is about the Targaryen civil war. The pieces are now in place, sides are ready to go, just waiting for the King to kick the bucket.

I read most of the GOT series. On that basis alone, I find it hard to believe that GRRM had the women running the show in the HOD source materials.

The weak king is half dead and half drugged up on milk of the poppy. He is overlooking everything in the vain attempt to keep his family together.

Then you would be dumb. Dumb for making comments about something you never read. Also dumb for making comments on assuming what you get now is what you will get with the Dance.
