A few years ago Yale would have been the Kenpom rated 10th best big east team (90) and then defeated Auburn in round 1
Yale is tough. Great coach. By the way, I agree with Bruce Pearl.Yale beat Auburn 1st round a few seasons ago
All I know is if we had a ton of those wins, they would be laughed at by shu "fans". IE 3 non D1s and some 300 rpi teams.Yale is tough. Great coach. By the way, I agree with Bruce Pearl.
Miami can max out at 2 losses before selection sunday...there is no team in history that did not make the field with 2 losses or lessLet's face it, it's all academic until they lose since they would be an automatic qualifier. I think their metrics will take a big hit with any loss in the Mid American Conference (and knock them out in my opinion - your resume cannot take a Quad 3 or 4 loss at this point), except a loss in the conference tournament final to Akron. Akron is NET 57; WAB 57; Kenpom 61. A loss in Cleveland on a neutral court to Akron would be Quad 2.
In that scenario, Miami (OH) would be 30-1, with decent metrics, and without a "bad" loss. I think to Bruce Pearl's chagrin, and some here, that they would be in.
And they have squeaked by some really bad teams. Again this week.Let's face it, it's all academic until they lose since they would be an automatic qualifier. Found this interesting -total polar opposite of sha.
They really aren't that great of a team, but I don't know how you keep Miami out of the NCAAs if they finish the regular season undefeated. I follow and use analytics as much as anyone, but the whole point of the game is to win. At some point, winning a sh*tload of games has to matter regardless of who you beat and how much you win by.

Yup. And ironically his name was rumored on Field of 68 as a possibly Cincy candidate if they move on from Wes Miller.Wasn't he the fired coach a few years ago at Xavier?
