They just read the headlines and dont even bother with the details.
It was a joke. See the moji. Lol

We’re all frustrated but I’m trying to keep an open mind on future moves.

Garcia however at 1 year $10mil is a steal and a Stearns type of deal but with Polanco / Vientos at DH and a LF / OF being acquired shortly…..,mmmm

Pitchers and Catchers report in about 2 months.

Tick…tick….tick

I don’t hate tge pickup and if he and Williams get back to form- solid pen.

slso- just so strange how Stearns really does go for ex Yankee players. Once or twice, just a fluke but this often, very strange.

Stearns is gobbling up all the pennies and leaving the dollars for everyone else. Any trades for a quality player is going to be a big hit to the farm system. Opposing team know the Mets are in a difficult position if they expect to field a competitive team. They can play hardball with the Mets.

LOL! Picking up all the former Yankees winners. He completely s the bed at the end of last season when he was needed most.
I actually was hoping the Yanks would resign Weaver. He had a lot of excellent outings for the team and I thought they would possibly give him another shot in 2026.

Unless he was pitching hurt, his end of year collapse was unforgiveable.

I could see why he signed with the Mets for two years at $22 million.
I don't know why he started to suck the back half of last year. If it was an injury, tipping his pitches, or lack of confidence.

Just for fun, here's a look at where the Mets 26 man Opening day roster might stand right now. It assumes that none of the rookie position players are ready yet. It also assumes this is the roster we are going to battle with, which of course it is not.

STARTING LINEUP (9)
Lindor SS
Semien 2B
Soto RF
Vientos DH
Polanco 1B
McNeil LF
Alvarez C
Baty 3B
Taylor CF

BENCH (4)
Torrens
Mauricio
Acuna
Bae or Young

STARTING PITCHING (6)
Senga
Peterson
McLean
Holmes
Manaea
Sproat OR Tong OR Scott

RELIEF PITCHING (7)
WIlliams
Raley
Minter (if he's ready)
Brazoban
?
??
???

This roster ain't winning anything, but I've seen worse in orange and blue.

It’s almost Christmas
I’ll go anti- negative Met thought and say Benge will start from day 1 . Mets got this one right and kid comes in and makes us forget PCA. Not as much power but more contact and a solid rookie season. Comes in 3rd for ROY behind ROY winner McLean !
