AMZN down 7%.

it just hasn’t been a good stock since the initial covid run.

AMZN down 7%.

They did well with earnings though

  • Earnings per share: $1.68 vs. $1.33 expected
  • Revenue: $167.7 billion vs. $162.09 billion expected
Wall Street is also looking at other key revenue numbers:

  • Amazon Web Services: $30.87 billion vs. $30.8 billion expected, according to StreetAccount
  • Advertising: $15.7 billion vs. $14.9 billion expected, according to StreetAccount
Amazon shares slid more than 7% in extended trading on Thursday after the company reported second-quarter results that exceeded expectations, but it gave light operating income guidance for the current period.
For the current quarter, Amazon said it expects operating income to land between $15.5 billion and $20.5 billion. Analysts were looking for $19.48 billion, according to StreetAccount.

The light guidance caused the drop. Josh Brown was hyping them up yesterday I believe saying it should go back to ATH and beyond.

+1
Just another market overreaction. AMZN is kicking butt with very good guidance.

Added some VOO & GRNY on the dip. Been buying VOO every month for about 2.5 years and just started with GRNY about 3 months ago.

I have AIP up 68% in after hours. Looks like they signed some deal with AMD.

Don’t forget who told you to sell everything you own and buy PLTR when it was $10. It is singlehandedly responsible for allowing me to quit the hedge fund industry.
An in law told me who works there way back when ;) Best tip I ever got. Easily. Crazy company though. Stuff they are doing is next next level. Their hiring practices are very unique.

My dad told me to buy PLTR at $25. It slid to below $20 and I thought I dodged another losing position.

What a bleeping idiot I was.

I got in at $109. This is why I'm going to be a wage slave until I die.

I owned about $10k of PLTR when it was around $10. Shot all the way up to $40 (never sold any) and then came crashing all the way back down to where I sold for no profit.
I look back and again another situation of what if - coulda should woulda (happens way too often to me as I used to own stock in TSLA back in January of 2016 yet sold a year later for small profit)

Don’t feel bad. There is always another one. The AI story is just starting. There are going to be plenty of winners that have not even gotten started yet.

I bought soon after it's direct listing at $9. Sold somewhere in the low 20's. Great trade.

Bought again somewhere around $9, and at this point I'm looking like a genius. Sold somewhere around $13. In a vacuum looks like a very good trade.

Bought back in again in the $70-$85 range. Sold at $120. Again, in a vacuum looks like a very good trade.

Doubled my money on one trade and 50% gains on 2 different trades, And this stock has still made me look like a dumb *** for selling.

Sold my AIP tonight after it popped 60% in after hours. Hopefully I won't look like a dumbass for selling here.

SYM with a big pop today closing above $55 which looked like a bit of a resistance level the previous couple weeks. See if it can hold above that level tomorrow.

BBAI up 10%

TEM and SOUN up 5%.

Well done! I bought a good amount but only got on board at $23. 😊
I got in at $18! Then sold at $71. LOL! Lesson learned.

I really like SOUN and their tech story. I've been hoping to buy it under $10, but I should just start building my position. I've missed out on a bunch of great plays by being too careful. However, hitting crazy hard on HOOD and RDDT.

Did you see Adam Parker on TCAF talking about McKesson? Very interesting idea. AI could really help a company like that.

Any others you are eyeing? Been searching for AI plays in other sectors (like healthcare).

Been building a position in SOUN including adding more earlier today. Really bullish on the future potential here. Feels like a double or triple down the road…
