I think it was Jeff DeGraaf who was on Closing Bell on friday and said LLY is broken and the top formation is completed, ie the highs are in. Thinks the stock could bounce back to $720ish but thinks the overall trend is downward from here. Had it as one of his best longer term shorts.

He's not Job's, but he has still guided the company to massive profits.

They need to get in on AI at some point, but I'm not sure if waiting to see how it plays out a little before jumping in is the wrong play. I mean it might be, but I could see it turning out to be the wise decision as well. Let the other guys spend the $100B early in the process, then leap frog over them when the economics of it aren't so rich.
If Tim Cook figures out AI for Apple, he would become a legendary CEO.

I think he would have been prior to AI becoming such a story, but now that it is such a story, I feel he has to figure it out or it will be a fall from grace for him.

SOUN with back to back rips after earnings last week.

SYM meanwhile is hanging out in that 53-55 range

I have been trading BBAI since it was in the $1 range. My current cost basis is $2.50 and will take some profit here before getting back in at a lower price range
BBAI with a dud of an earning report. I sold all of my remaining holdings in after hours

Hmm. Do you think PLTR is crowding them out of gov'ment work?
There’s more than one winner in the government space. Have a member of the Trump inner circle is not proving to be enough. Their guidance was a huge concern. They are now in the doghouse along with C3AI.

Yeah, C3AI has been in purgatory for a while.

CPI comes in mostly as expected but lighter on YoY headline. 0.2% MoM and only 2.7% YoY. Core MoM as expected.

Start the cutting cycle Chairman Waller!

Housing price increases again the prime culprit.

Consumer prices rise 2.7% annually in July, less than expected amid tariff worries

A 0.2% increase in shelter costs drove much of the rise in the index, while food prices were flat and energy fell 1.1%, the BLS said. Tariff-sensitive new vehicle prices also were unchanged though used cars and trucks saw a 0.5% jump.
CPI inflation report July 2025:

High Fed rates are driving shelter inflation.
I don’t think long rates move materially downward unless there’s an actual “r” word…and even if there was a recession I’m not sure we just wouldn’t wind up with the steepest yield curve in US history as the July federal budget deficit was $291 billion.
And I’m all for an immediate .50 FF rate cut followed by a pause til Dec.

Tom Lee - Buy ETH:
  • As for our recommended investment strategies, we are formally adding Ethereum to our “Mag7 & Bitcoin:”
    – we have stated multiple times we believe Ethereum is the biggest macro trade over the next 10-15 years
    – the primary driver is that Wall Street is moving onto the blockchain, spurred by the GENIUS act (stablecoins) and by SEC’s project crypto (moving Wall Street onto the blockchain).
    – the majority of stablecoins and Wall Street projects are being built on Ethereum
  • Ethereum is outperforming Bitcoin YTD gaining +28% vs +18% for Bitcoin. And ETH is within 6% of all-time highs. Sean Farrell, Head of Digital Asset Research for Fundstrat, sees $10,000 ETH and as high as $12,000-$15,000 by year-end. So there is still plenty of upside.
  • In fact, the latest BofA Fund Manager survey shows only 9% of fund managers own crypto compared to 48% who own gold. So these are still the earliest days.
  • As for getting exposure, one can own ETH ETFs or buy Ethereum treasury stocks, which are the ETH equivalent of Microstrategy (ticker- MSTR -1.49% ). There are 3 large ETH Treasury stocks:
    – Bitmine (ticker- BMNR +6.12% ) which owns >1.15 million ETH
    – I am Chairman of Bitmine
    – Sharplink Gaming (ticker- SBET +1.05% )
    – Ethermachine (ticker- DYNX -1.37% )
  • As Michael Saylor of MSTR says: “MSTR is leveraged Bitcoin” and similarly, these ETH Treasury companies are leveraged to a rise in ETH.

Tim Cook has done an amazing job as CEO in many ways. However, Apple still hasn't come out with that revolutionary new product under his leadership yet. Until that happens, Steve Jobs' shadow will continue to loom large.
He managing what others did before him but he’s not a revolutionary.

Rick Reider on yesterdays Closing Bell: "This is the best investing environment ever"

Also was calling for cuts in Sept....and is now on the list for next Treasury Sect.

BoA on the other hand says they don't see cuts till the 2nd half of 2026, which to me sounds crazy.

Rick Reider on the Fed would be awesome! And yes, cuts will start in Sept.

By the way, read a few things about Pony AI. China-based robotaxi company. What could go wrong! :)

Intriguing, but I've traded Chinese stocks terribly.

E-Trade also has nothing on the fundamentals. Whether that's because it's Chinese or relatively new to the market I don't know.

Up nicely today.

OUST breaking out past $30. Crushed earnings last week. Up 15% today.

Still miles below it's 2021 high's, or even lows.

Got a Bullish IPO allocation wish I could have sold when it was up 200% today! I have to hold it until 8/28.

Also bought UEC again after regretting selling it at $7.00.
