DePaul (#109) may be the worst team we've lost to but Road games are given far more weight in every metric and team resume. Losing at DePaul is square in the middle of Quad 2 (#76-135). Losing at Home to #81 Butler slides into Quad 3 (#76-160) and is currently our leading blemish. Our worst loss is DePaul at 109. Realistically perhaps our worst losing performance as well. It helps that Marquette at 111 is the worst ranked BE team in NET. We were hurt two years ago by Georgetown and DePaul going 2-38 combined in BE play.
If we were to lose to DePaul at home tonight then that would become worst loss. Getting swept by a sub-100 team would not look good. Winning tonight does very little for us but it would prevent a bad loss. Its a hold your ground game.
These last 5 games are like golf holes when you need to make up strokes. 3 of the holes are impossible to birdie. Best you can do is par them but a bogey on any of them would be killer. You need to par them to hold ground so you can attempt to Birdie or Eagle your 2 Par 5 opportunity holes.
