That's a good point. The fine going to the opposing team makes sense. It also makes storming the field an even dumber move from a competitive standpoint.The money goes to the opposing school. This makes sense when its a conference game, but is the SEC making us give ASU an extra $500K? Maybe ASU would be nice and just donate it back?
I know this wont happen, but it would be cool if yhe coaches and players chipped in to pay the fine...sort of a "thank you" for the support.
Someone posted that there was a timer for the students to wait on storming the field, but the students shockingly did not let a timer hold them back. If there is a "next time", then maybe we could charge people to LEAVE the field once they have stormed it?
I don't think the SEC would tolerate paying the fine by letting fans pay to storm the field. That would defeat the whole purpose.
