I also never picked up on his Israeli heritage...
Khadeen Carrington is not an Israeli citizen but has been naturalized to play for the Israel national basketball team in FIBA competitions, such as the EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers. According to FIBA regulations, a team can include one naturalized player who may not hold full citizenship but is granted eligibility to represent the country. Carrington, born in Trinidad and Tobago with U.S. citizenship, was approved as Israel’s naturalized player, with the process receiving the green light from the Israeli Minister of Sports and Culture in January 2024. However, he is still registered as a foreign player in the Israeli Basketball Super League, indicating he does not have full Israeli citizenship and his naturalized status is specific to international play. Efforts to secure full citizenship for him were reported as unsuccessful as of February 2024, due to Israel’s stringent citizenship laws outside the Law of Return.

Thanks for that info Fish. KC, one of my favorite Pirates!!!

Reminds me of an acquaintance of mine - he was a CHSAA star back in the late 60s / early 70s and played at Colgate, Don Ward is his name, nicknamed Beda, a very crazy young man was he, Belmar lifeguard in the day and JSBL star at night. He moved to Israel and I always wondered if he still lived there and my one friend who would know has died. If back in the 70s, at a Jersey shore bar, you saw a 6'5 guy get on stage, grab the mike from the singer and demand the band play Under My Thumb, you probably saw Beda.

I hope not. Not a good move last year. I doubt Rothstein appreciated the snub.

We'll see if things are changing as I have been told.
