As good as he was yesterday he was equally as bad today. Got really outcoached in the second half.

Game on the line and you draw up a play to Payne?????? Yes I know the ball went off a usc player but man oh man. You have Clark Fisher AJ or Hines and you throw it to Payne. Jesus

Relax. 2 pt loss. Are refs done reviewing calls under 1 min?

Can't refs review a close play at a critical point in the game without a challenge from one of the benches?

Disappointed? Yes.
You always want to win.
Disheartened? Far from it.
Actually, very impressed.
Have no ESPN+ so last two nights first time seen them play.
These players have shown me that anything can happen this year.
And as a looooong time fan that's all I ask.
Be competitive and always have a chance to grab a victory.
The more you do that the longer you go into the year and instead of anticipated pain JOY will fill my heart.

Sha wasn’t out coached. We played very well. Refs made the game extremely slow which isn’t our style.

I thought the play to Payne at the end was nice. Whether by design or as the secondary move. USC made a great defensive play, otherwise it was going to be an easy dunk for 2.

I actually think our offense has been tremendous with play calling and execution in Hawaii. Reminds me of how St Peters looked in the tourney and that’s a very good thing.

Sha’s done well this year. I don’t see how you can think otherwise. I get from a fan standpoint the instinct is to be reactionary and go to extremes. You have to be happy after the last two days. One can think Sha is doing a good job this year, that he was awful last year, and while he obviously isn’t in the same universe as the best coaches in our league, he certainly doesn’t look like a Kim English either.

We challenged a foul call on Payne with 30 secs left in the 2nd half
We did not. Fouls are not typically reviewable. This particular foul was not the exception that is reviewable.

re: challenges, I was going off what the announcers said about why we couldn't challenge (that we lost our first challenge)

Where Sha did make a mistake was not putting the press on sooner! As soon as he did it produced results but it should have been put on 3 to 5 minutes sooner when there was more time in the game to work with.

Maybe but only Williams and Clark were in real trouble. There were enough guys NOT in serious trouble to press sooner. We were out rebounded by 14 and still kept it close. I know they had a tremendous free throw advantage but if we made a few more of the ones we had it would have been different. Only 12 of 18 for 67%. While at the previous game we hit for 83%.

Post more often. You make sense and bring the insight from years of Pirate watching.
