Battle between two unbeaten squads who really seem to be coming along. Arguably the game of the year. Who takes it, and why?

Reminds me of the JV game two years ago at Swain. Not sure if the outcome will be the same. I have not seen this Murphy JV team but looking forward to the game. Both teams are going to have a fight in their hands. Winner will be the team who plays the best defense. Lots of weapons on both teams.

Murphy takes it cause of tha depth chart!! You can look on tha sideline of swain and see if somethin happens to that startin 11 then it will affect them!! Donavan is there offense and Murphy has more options!! If anything happens to anyone on swains linemen then you'll get thru that gap tha rest of tha game!! Murphy a little more physical to, ain't many as physical as swains Loyd t tho!!

I think Murphy by 14 or 21!!
Wow if Murphy can beat them by 21, swain may not so easily beat Robbinsville. Murphy is better than rville but it’s not a big gap I didn’t think. They made some big mistakes in the first half to get in a deep hole and Murphy capitalized as a good team should.

I thought Murphy was way better then robinsville but tha score from that game showed a little different I guess if that's tha way you wanna look at it!! Think robinsville and swain game be a little tighter then this Thursday!! Murphy pulls away midway thru tha 3rd and on thru tha 4th!!

The Murphy offense in the Robbinsville game was a mess. Coaching staff couldn't decide what the solution was to losing starting fullback in 1st game. They tried putting the tailback at fullback fir the Robbinsville game and it was a disaster. No running game. Moved him back to tail and an 8th grader at fullback and now it's clicking. I mean no disrespect to Robbinsville, but that tailback would have big runs against you all on the outside. We literally had less than 100 yards when we played.

Murphy was up on robbinsville 26-0 going into the 4th quarter and took their foot off the gas way too fast. It could have very easily have been 34 to nothing if murphy had converted their extra points. The offense was tweaked after the robbinsville game. Murphy dominated Cherokee and hayesville since then. I think Murphy beats Swain by 2 scores, dogs by 12.

Ok sounds like you guys weren't has nervous as I was at that game lol. There's some could of, would of, should of in those statements. Robbinsville very well could have won the game if they had another timeout. They did recover the onside kick and the way Murphy's D was on its heels probably scored again.

Either way its the type of game you want to see for your JV players. They need to get hit in the mouth before moving on to varsity and face some adversity in games. I felt both teams left that game better in the end.

Just to be clear I am not a fan of either team. Just a outsider that settled in the area. I enjoy watching hs football and wrestling.
I understand exactly what you're saying and I agree. Murphy was facing adversity before that game ever started. Robbinsville has a good team and could have easily have pulled out the victory, my point is just that the Murphy offense was non-existent that game and nit because of the Knight's D. When Murphy lost their fullback for the season, every back was moved. Tail went to full, wing went to tail, and wing was a new kid. It just didn't work one bit. We survived, the coaching staff put the tail and wingback at their natural positions, and in steps the 8th grader who played fullback all through rec league. Great move. Totally different offense than you saw in Robbinsville game. I'd say (this is a guess) that Murphy has averaged around 250-300 yards a game on the ground since.

Question about robbinsville for next year, I'm not really familiar with that group. I know they bring back Williams who will be one of the top backs in the conference next year. Do they lose FB, QB and both WRs? How much of the line comes back?

I am not 100% sure on that. I went last week and watched the Rville-Andrews game when someone said they could be the 2 best teams next year. I asked that very question was told that 3 starting lineman and 1 of the receivers were 8th graders and Williams was 7th grade. I am not sure if this is correct or not so don't hold me too it. They did say the #1 midget team was Rville and expected next year to have another good jv season.

Robbinsville has a good group of youth players coming up but things seem to even out with youth teams at this level. Williams will be a load next year.

Lol. I get so confused on here. Several years ago Andrews had a dominant group go through youth league and I was expecting that team to do well through High School. Well I was shot down with people saying it really doesn’t matter what you do in youth league because of every reason under the sun. Now I see people contemplating great things for their youth teams ? Lmbo I guess it’s where your from. I still believe you can have a good group go through youth and have a good high school career IF they stay together

When was the last time Murphy had a really good youth team? Dogs seem to do ok with limited youth league success mainly because a lot of Murphys better athletes dont really start playing until jv.

Speaking of youth league whats the word on the Clem boy who tore up termites last year? I believe he hurt his leg and couldnt play this year. Hope to see him back on the field by jv if not sooner. He has special talent and a dad who was a D1 WR, so dont think its a case of just a kid dominating just because of his speed.

This current group of murphy freshmen, a lot of whom played jv as seventh graders have lost one JV game in three years. Do you know how many cracker bowls they played in? Since 2010 when a few of them started at six years old they have played in just one, 2014 which was a loss to Swain 24-0. I don't put much into youth league as a indicator of future success.

John Ledford is the only kid on this Murphy roster that has been playing since he was 5. A very solid eighth grade player.

Murphy will have their hands full Thursday with Swain. Greonwold is an absolute beast. Swains line is big and physical but I have faith in these JV Dogs. The coaches have made some great adjustments as the season has progressed and I think they're playing their best ball at this point. This game should be a classic SMC slobber knocker.

He was injured at the beginning of the season. I believe his dad played WR at Miami, after a knee injury he finished his career at Grambling. Cam is only 9 and has a ton of upside. Imo it's foolish to predict how good a kid will be at that age but I'll definitely be keeping up with his progress. Great kid.
