As far as I'm concerned, it would be never. Why open up more seats for rutgers fans, particularly when they have gone out of their way to block SHU fans from getting tickets at the RAC? This is an annual topic, and people forget that when the entire CAA was available in the years we played there, we never saw the "sea of red" that the knights fans who complain about us keeping the upper bowl closed imagined.

I hear you on that, but don't we need revenue now more than ever, and like it or not that game seems to draw the most interest annually, at least for a certain contingent. If our fans or casual fans pay to sit upstairs, it would negate any RU fans that show and, to your point, who knows how many Rutgers fans are going to attend anyway?

When others play at pro arenas, whether it's Nova at Xfinity, or Uconn at XL (whatever it's called now), or St. John's at the Garden, I don't believe they block off the upper level because of a fear other teams fans will travel and, if that happens, that's on them and their program to figure out how to get their fans to show up.

There have been years recently when the upper level of MSG was not open for SJU games. It's not that they feared a take over, it simply didn't make sense based on expected attendance.

That's the same reason we don't open upstairs in Newark. The one year we did so for a half dozen games was driven by demand from our own fans. If (when) we get to the point we can do that again we should.

BTW, it's fairly apparent that SJU has tried to make it more difficult for SHU fans in recent years by scheduling us in Alumni Hall or UBS. Last year's game was only moved to MSG at the last minute due to --surprise -- ticket demand from SJU fans.

Surely, you also remember a time when SJU did everything in its power to keep UConn fans out of MSG, including limiting single-game sales and. if I recall. blocking non-local zip codes from buying tickets.

I agree we shouldn't open the top deck if the ticket demand isn't there. If it isn't going to make you more $$$, there is no point in having a sunken cost. But, with the Rutgers game I think we would draw even when we aren't good or projected to be good, because it's the "battle of New Jersey". I think you'd get lots of more casual fans or people who want to attend their "one" Hall game per season. And I don't think Rutgers fans would show up in droves, nor would I care frankly if we have a sold out arena because of the revenue generated from that type of attendance.

As you can see above in this thread many disagreed with my many easy wins. But FWIW Kenpom agrees and has every easy win I noted as a blowout.

He also has the same record as I did with the one difference he has NC as a easy loss and I have it as a completive L.

Now soon we will see.
