BE was brand new. I think there were 3 BE teams matched up with ACC Teams. Back then, the ACC was cleary the best hoops conference. My memory can only be sure I watched the games at NY Gov Carey's upper West side appartment (a friend went to BC with the Govs daughter, Gov Carey came home and greeted us, was very pleasant, he had like 15 kids so guess he was used to it).

Can anyone remember what BE teams beat ACC teams that night? Was a real shot in the arm for our new league.

The Big East has been given a requiem, and treated it like Lazarus. The games Friday night have me thinking of that night. Hope SJU and Uconn rub this bullsh?$t seeding in the committee's face.

I don't specifically remember that (and cool story about the Guv) but back then, I would not be surprised if Boston College was one of them.

The others? Could be any one of St. John's, Georgetown and Syracuse.

I know....chalk all the way...lol

Big east only had 7 schools that season. Ncaa tournament was far less teams and geographically based. St John's lost to Purdue. Georgetown and Syracuse both lost to Iowa in back to back rounds.
