Wouldn’t you wanna promote that It’s almost a sellout because it’s such a hot ticket? Seems kind of odd to keep it hush-hush.

How are we seriously trying to compare Rutgers student turnout to us.

Rutgers
On campus - limited travel to arrive
No cost to park
Tickets are free

Seton Hall
Not on campus - logistics to travel not easy. Wait for a bus or find a car when it’s hard ri even have one on campus.
cost to park Tickets- $25-30
Cost of ticket - $15

This is not an apples to apples comparison.

excellent , forgot the student ratio on campus numbers . Travel to the Pru is no picnic. Live most of the time outside US but other part in Fl, last week saw a magnificent Monteverde Academy coach bus on Rt 75 with a slew of nschool busses behind it. Thought,,, Hmnn good way to get kids to an away game.

if other schools had that reaction i would agree.
Yes but other schools have more students to fill the seats, and they do recruit more freshmen. We are in the minority when it comes to roster turnover and filing almost completely with with transfers.

Used to be we would look forward to fall and spring high school signings. With SHU it is not happening anymore. That was part of the hoops excitement seeing which HS seniors were coming and then watching them perform for 4 years.

Oh and then they graduate and become Alums. Or do they graduate at all? Does this happen anymore? When we have a night to celebrate former players do these kids come back? Do they care? Do we care?

Do most colleges charge students for tickets. I can see how big state schools can give out tickets for free but is that case with other schools like Nova, and other Big East schools.

people really aren't putting enough emphasis on the fact nobody really wants to go into freaking newark and back. especially if the team stinks.

doesn't matter car uber or bus.

Rutgers fan here. I might attend tonight's game. Will there empty seats near the court that I could slip into? Never been to a Seton Hall home game before.

A few clarifications about the Rutgers basketball arena.

Yes, the arena is on campus but in a remote location on the remote Livingston campus. The walk for 90% or so of undergrads would be 45 minutes or more. The vast majority of students travel to the arena using the campus bus system.

Parking costs $30.

Yes, tickets are free on a first-come first-served basis.

I would guess for a student it might matter less? Who knows…….
it's inconvenient in a few ways. 20 mins each way quickest is inconvenience for them. especially if they're drinking and taking the bus. students have to get from their office campus house to the rec.

you can deny all you want but the fact of the matter is we have a hard getting students to go. the proof is right there

it's a different mindset, different generation. I was a student 06-10. One year at the Meadowlands 3 at the Rock. The ride was much easier going to Newark. But there seems to be different factors now. We didn't have to reserve a spot on a bus, and we always could stay to the end of the game without worrying. We would drink on the bus and there are ways to sneak stuff into the Rock. But the entire generation doesn't think outside the box and mostly can't see anything they aren't told to do. it's interesting to see the differences generations. Sorry that's my Social science background there.

Hey players are being paid, maybe students need some cash as well to go and cheer. Just a thought, maybe lobsters are looking for NIL money. I gotta figure if I was busting my *** studying and a bunch of college basketball players were going to school for free and getting Six figure salaries it might tik me off a bit but we would need to ask them.
