Clearly a tale of two cities.
In the first game the mass substitutions didn't hurt although I feel strongly that most of us are not in favor. In the following game our second team hurt us badly.
The only players I feel played well in both games were Payne and Simpkins. Clark was alright, while Hines and Fisher had one dominate game and then a so so game.
Parker is still finding his feet, but he's now the backup point to Clark and I would like to see him get some PT with the starters instead of floundering with the second team. He's going to be needed when Clark sits or is in foul trouble.
Dar and Williams are excellent defenders but they need to play with consistency on offense to earn more PT.
Staton-McCray and Felton have struggled to date. The former getting back on track will be important. The later, not sure if he'll stay in the rotation.
Got to cover the three point area better. In the first half of the St Peter's game and throughout the Wagner game they did a terrible job, especially on penetration and then kick outs to the weak side . Stay with your man and do not help out unless your man is a poor shooter. We have two and when Godswill comes back three shot blockers, no need to help except in certain situations.
The ball movement has been good in both games but the outside shooters must hit their attempts more efficiently.
Bottom line, the team was ready to play in game one, but probably because they read their own press clippings afterward was not in game two and we saw the results. If that happens in game three then the team is not as good as I thought because you know they got an earful from Holloway for their lackluster effort Friday night.
