Starting Lineup to begin the year:
PG - Clark
2G - Staton-McCray
SF - Fisher
PF - Dar
C - Ehrierene
Bench:
PG - Parker/Felton
2G - Simpkins/Williams/Parker
SF - Rivera/Dar
PF - Payne/Rivera/Suemnick
C - Hines/Payne/Mbaye
First three off the bench:
Parker
Hines
Simpkins
Others in rotation:
Payne
Williams
Questionable minutes/contribution:
Felton
Rivera
Suemnick
Mbaye
Notes:
-I hesitate to see Dar as a starting PF but I put him there because A) we need his shooting and he is the best shooter on the team B) athleticism at the PF position is a big plus C) Sha said in an interview he reminds him of a more offensively polished Ish Sanogo who needs to develop defensively D) because we have nobody else at this position
-I see Erheriene starting the year at C but can certainly see a platoon very quickly with minutes being split with Hines, or even Hines starting
-I don't see Felton getting an abundance of minutes because I have a hard time thinking he is better than Parker, Staton-McCray, Simpkins, or Williams unless he makes a huge jump in the offseason.
-I see Parker as arguably our second most talented guard, but due to his size and ability to play the point, I think he comes off the bench at least to start the year as a PG/combo guard who is 6th man.
-If I am correct that Fisher and Dar both see minutes on the floor together, then I can see Simpkins getting time at the SF position coming off the bench.
-I don't see Payne starting at PF because of offensive limitations in combination with both of our centers also having similar limitations. All are 5 ft and in players and none can stretch the floor or even be counted on for dependable back-to-the-basket offense. This is why I see Dar at PF also, as we will need to stretch the floor in order to make our offense work. Dar hanging out on the perimeter should help open up driving lanes for our guards who will seek to employ Sha's "get to the basket and go to the line" offense.
