It better be a blowout and Mbaye better get in the game! Also I would hate for Hines or Payne to get hurt in a blowout! If we are in a blowout don't wait for 1 minute to go to bring Mbaye in! Bring him in at the 5 minute mark at the latest! Save Hines and Payne from injury!

Waste of a game. Shouldn’t be playing a team like this as the 5th game of the season. It could lead to more bad habits than good ones.

I'm all for these big conference schools playing a game at a smaller conference school in the OOC schedule. Gives you the feel of an away game & from a program standpoint, your players get to see first hand how well they have it.

When looking this team up I'm shocked to see that they had a Home game vs Penn State. A Big10 team travelling to play this team is a head-scratcher.

agreed- odd to see a b1G school going to the NEC. Maybe somebody knew somebody and wanted to help them out in their initial D1 year.

It was a favor to them in exchange for 3 homes games at Penn State in the future that will not cost Penn State a dime. Seton Hall did a favor to Monmouth when they opened up their new arena and what Seton Hall did with St. Peter's when they re-opened a revamped Yanitelli Center.

We only scored 68 agains New Haven which is a shock and in a way scary that we were held by them to such a low score. Every BE team that played last night scored in the 90's plus but us. And they probably played better teams!

It was hard to score a lot when New Haven was forced into shooting at the shot clock buzzer so often. It shortened the amount of possessions.

By the way the teams we played so far had starting lineups as tall if not taller than ours. We are not a very tall team. Did not matter so far but down the road we will be facing teams with taller and better players and that could be a problem. Just saying.

Uhm 48% field goal had something to do with it.
I'm unsure of the point your trying to make but if your implication is that we shot poorly last night, 48% was our best shooting percentage of the season.

We scored 82 versus Fairfield shooting 41% and 70 against Monmouth shooting 34%.

Lloyde's point is that scoring more often correlates to tempo than anything else.

We attempted our second fewest shots (54) out of five games. We took 45 in the St. Peter's game but also attempted 36 free throws as opposed to 10 last night.

Since we are pressing and have a more uptempo game we should be scoring more and have more layups! We continue to miss point blank shots. We did not have as many blocks and steals. No 48% is nothing to write home about. You are right about it not being as bad as other games but it was New Haven we were playing. 48% against New Haven was not what it should have been.

Our field goal percentage is 10th so far in the BE. Only Xavier is slightly lower. That is concerning.

We are not pressing to speed the game up. We are pressing to grind teams down. Look at how many shot clock violations we get. Look at how many defensive possessions go under 10 seconds. Look at how hard it is for other teams to get off shots.

Once the competition picks up, we will have some games where we score points. But we are a slow-it-down, grind-it-out team. 68 points can be an efficient night for that type of team. And last night was reasonably efficient (not great but decent).

You are not concerned and that is okay but BB is about defense and offense. Last year we were last or near last in many offense categories. This year against cupcake teams we are showing the same issues. That is my point of concern. Is it valid? Maybe not. If it is we are in trouble. NC State averages over 90 points a game so this will be a real good test.
