Michigan has the fourth-best odds to win the national title

Michigan has the fourth-best odds of any program in the country to win this year’s national championship at +1000.

The three teams ahead of them are two-time defending champion Georgia at +220, Alabama at +500 and Ohio State at +700.

There is a little bit of a dropoff after the Wolverines in the national title odds with USC next up at +1600.

Defending Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams is current favorite to win his second straight with +400 odds. After him are Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis all with +1200 odds.

Further down the list are two Wolverines players tied at +3000 odds: quarterback JJ McCarthy and running back Blake Corum.

Corum had high praise for McCarthy earlier this spring.

“He grows each and every day. He attacks every day,” Corum said. “He’s in there watching film, just trying to be the best he can be. … I see the progression, I see the progress he’s making. I’m excited to see what he does.”

Two other players also have +3000 odds. They are Georgia quarterback Carson Beck and Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Harrison and Corum are the two non-quarterbacks with the best Heisman odds of any players in the country.

“There’s just more left that I want to do … not only on the field, but in the community, as well,” Corum said when asked why he wanted to come back for his senior season. “We have more that’s on the plate and I’m just trying to finish it off.”

Backup running back Donovan Edwards has a +10000 odds to win the Heisman.
