Tulane QB Michael Pratt shoots down report of potentially enter transfer portal

Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt has established himself as one of the country’s best quarterbacks in all of college football. With that, have come plenty of questions and rumors about his future.
One rumor, in particular, was that Pratt is heavily considering forgoing the NFL Draft for a transfer to a Power Five school. However, that isn’t the case and Pratt took to X to confirm that he’s not transferring.
“False information,” Pratt posted. “Focused on this season and going 1-0 each week. ROLL WAVE”
This season, Tulane is battling to go to a New Year’s Six Bowl for the second season in a row. Last year, Michael Pratt led the Green Wave to the Cotton Bowl. There, Tulane beat USC in the Cotton Bowl. It was one of the biggest wins in program history and Pratt was a huge part of that team’s success.
In the first College Football Playoff Rankings this season, Tulane was the top-ranked Group of Five team, just edging out Air Force. Assuming that Tulane wins out and wins the AAC, the Green Wave are in a good position to go to back-to-back NY6 games. If that were to happen, it would be the first time in program history that Tulane went to back-to-back NY6 games, and just the third time Tulane would go to bowl games in consecutive seasons.
Michael Pratt has been a massive piece of that success. He was a Second-Team All-AAC selection in 2022 and has thrown for 1,384 yards and 14 touchdowns in six games this season. In Tulane’s one loss, at home to Ole Miss, Pratt was unable to play due to an injury.

Coming out of high school, Michael Pratt was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He chose Tulane over FAU, Toledo, and multiple Ivy League schools, among others. He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $445,000.
Next season, Pratt will have plenty of options, likely including the NFL and returning to Tulane. For now, though, it appears a transfer is unlikely.
Lane Kiffin praised Michael Pratt
It wasn’t known that Michael Pratt was going to miss the game against Ole Miss until shortly before the game itself. Leading up to that game, it was Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin who took the time to praise the talented young quarterback.
“The quarterback, basically, played as well as you can on air last week with one incompletion,” Kiffin said. “He’s very savvy, a veteran, sharp, accurate. A really good player.”
