Former Utah recruit Carson Tabaracci has committed to USC as his transfer portal destination, according to a post he shared on Twitter. Tabaracci recently finished an official visit to USC this month, and his visit secured his decision to play for the Trojans this year. Originally recruited out of Utah to the Utes as a running back in high school, USC is looking to use Tabaracci as a linebacker.

Carson Tabaracci commits to USC

Tabaracci, an On3 Consensus three-star prospect from Utah, announced his commitment to USC on Wednesday. The 6’1, 221-pound athlete will look to make an impact as a young linebacker for the Trojans as Lincoln Riley begins his first season as head coach.

The Utah prospect has been a hot recruiting target for a long time, originally testing the transfer portal after last spring and being recruited by USC at that time as well. On his top five last year, USC was alongside Ohio State, Oregon, Notre Dame and staying at Utah. Ultimately, he withdrew from the transfer portal and remained with the Utes. Now, USC has fully won him over from their conference rival as he explored the transfer portal a second time.

USC with big transfer wins

Tabaracci is another of multiple big wins that USC has landed via the transfer portal over the offseason, the biggest of which in May has been wide receiver Jordan Addison from Pitt. Addison’s decision to leave the Panthers sent shockwaves through college football, as the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner joined the Pac-12 Conference.

“The last few weeks have been very difficult,” Addison wrote of his decision. “I struggled with my decision as to whether I should exercise my right to enter the portal. Student athletes have not always had that opportunity, and I made that choice. … I have now carefully considered the advice of my family and close friends and fully weighed both the risks and benefits associated with my decision. I also respect others that may make a difficult choice.

“But for me, I will continue my full development as a student athlete by enrolling at USC. Much love always, JA.”
