Notre Dame commit Devin Fitzgerald sets career-highs in receiving

Notre Dame four-star wide receiver commit Devin Fitzgerald had the best statistical night of his high school football career in Brophy College Preparatory‘s loss to Hamilton last week.
Fitzgerald, son of former NFL star Larry Fitzgerald, hauled in a career-high 14 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns for the Broncos in a 70-33 loss to the Huskies. The 234 yards by Fitzgerald set a new school single-game record and the 14 catches was tied for the program’s best ever for a pass catcher.
The senior wide receiver is having himself a stellar senior season for Brophy College Preparatory (2-2), catching a team-high 36 passes for 508 yards and seven touchdowns.
In 2024, Fitzgerald hauled in 52 passes for 720 yards and nine touchdowns for the Broncos, earning as a junior All-Central Region second-team honors.
“We got an extended look at Fitzgerald at the OT7 playoffs last weekend, and we came away really impressed with what we saw,” Rivals Director of scouting and rankings Charles Power said back in the summer of Fitzgerald. “What impressed us the most was the overall skill level. He’s a savvy, crafty receiver who has excellent ball-tracking skill and reliable hands. He caught almost every ball that was within his radius over the weekend. Fitzgerald has a knack of finding his way open, especially against zone defenses — he understands space.

“He plays like the son of a pro. That’s all really encouraging, and he’s a guy who looks like a quality high three-star at minimum based on what we saw. He looked even better in the 7-on-7 setting than he did on film last season. That’s a positive — he could be primed to make a jump as a senior. He plays for a good program, and Notre Dame has a strong track record at Brophy.”
Next time folks can catch a glance of Fitzgerald and the Broncos is this Friday when they take on undefeated Red Mountain.
