Eastern (OH) senior quarterback Eric Manley entered Friday night with 16 touchdown passes on the 2025 season.

By the end of the night, he came over halfway towards that mark in tying an Ohio high school football state record. Manley tied a state record and threw 10 touchdown passes in Eastern’s 71-52 victory over South Gallia.

“It means the world,” Manley said of the record. “iIt means all the hard work and sacrifices I’ve made were worth it. It feels even better to do it in our fourth straight conference title win against a solid opponent. I had gotten close last year when I threw seven in a half, but to get it on senior night in front of our home crowd and my family is a dream come true. It’s a night I’ll remember forever. I couldn’t have done it without my O Line giving me all day and guys making plays for me.”

Manley entered the night having completed 70 of 104 passes for 1,326 yards, 16 touchdowns and just one interception. Seven of his 10 touchdown passes on the night went to junior wide receiver Boston Webb.

The Eagles are back out on the field for their regular season finale against winless Green next week.
