Bryce Underwood

So, what do we think about this fella? I’ve recently looked at Bryce Underwood’s tape and highlights. He reminds me a lot of Jason Campbell at Auburn. I think he’s going to be pretty solid at worst.

He just turned 18 a few weeks ago. He’s going to be very good, it’s just a matter of when. Although it might not be at Michigan if they don’t use him properly and get him some weapons this off season.

Yep. This is a perfect example of why OSU plays chess with their NIL strategy and some others play checkers. They are exactly in the situation you don’t want to be in from a program culture standpoint, which is that they have one player who can pretty much dictate org moves. Sherrone Moore’s buyout is $4m now I believe, maybe less. If Underwood expresses dissatisfaction about his ceiling under Sherrone, with what they’ve paid him and the pedestal they’ve put him on, I think they’d have to part with the coach, which is maybe the worst precedent you could set. He’s basically in a position to be the shadow GM kind of like LeBron has been later in his career, except LeBron was the best player in the league, not a true freshman/rookie.

He may end up being good, but right now he is just a player with tools. I did not see any wow factor plays Saturday night. Looked good against NM. They lack WR talent, OL play is not what it has been, and I am not seeing a difference making TE. He should be holding a clip board but the money is dictating him playing and he is pressing. They will win their next game but a pivotal one coming up at Nebraska.

He definitely is going to be good but he lacks any recieving help and his oline is terrible in pass protection. That’s a recipe to be set up to fail.

Their schedule sets up that they could lose all 5 after the CMU game

I think he’s gonna be a helluva QB. That said he’s a frosh this year with an OL that I don’t think is as good as normal Michigan lines. He’s gonna have moments but he’s gonna look like frosh at times

I actually think their schedule is very easy sans OSU the rest of the way. No Oregon or Penn state. Nebraska or UsC could get them. I predict they’re 9-2 coming into The Game

Btw, the idea that Moore largely got the HC job because of his work with the OLine makes cor a bit irony given their current OLine isn’t all that good

His stud olines were mostly built around transfers and 5/6th year grown men. His development of young linemen isn’t great so far. While he gets a few studs he recruits d as lot of slow footed bullies who can’t move well.

I'm sure Underwood will be a very good QB if scUM allows him to develop and doesn't screw it up. Their fans were stupid enough to think that he would be a stud on day one because they paid millions of dollars for him. Let's not forget either that the good guys have Tavien St. Clair who was the #2 QB in that class.

They could be 9-2 but if the offense doesn’t get better they could drop several games.

For folks who believe Underwood is the real deal; what has lead you to that position? Not saying Underwood won’t be great or be a Heisman contender, just haven’t seen anything in first two games to make me believe that’s his trajectory.

Way too early to proclaim anything. I think the consensus is he's not the real deal yet, but will be some day.

There you have it. Cheats, not a great assessor, and doesn’t develop

Well here's to hoping that the offensive line is so bad he develops terrible habits that he can't recover from but stays at UM for 4 years. Image
