Buck Stops Here: New Hot Seat Era

That’s the best you can come up with?? After one year on the job and an attempt at totally remaking the program in a new era and this is your two cents worth? You need to be better than that.

The age of uncertainty and turbulence is here. Player movement has caught and passed coaching movement. Those schools and staffs that can close ranks and weather the storm will be best positioned to survive. I really think we see some serious guardrails soon than later.

Imo, the new era of college athletics has put us all on the hot seat. That includes coaches, players, and fans.

That wasn’t anything scathing at all. Basically only said Belichick is on hot seat lists and UNC needs to be prepared to act, if need be.

Whether people like or not, 4-8 puts some things on the table. Yelling at people for noting the obvious is tiresome (and your first commenter today: yelling at you). I never liked the hire for football reasons. I was appalled at how bad the team was last season for football reasons. I’m hopeful for next season, but I can’t say much of that is founded on football reasons. If BB gives us some good football, all this talk goes away. For football reasons. All comes down to the football. Not what Indiana spent or what some 18 year olds might grow into three years from now. Good football. Next season. Simple. And if the football’s not good, the seat will be hot very quickly. That’s kind of how this industry works.

That’s it. Start winning and stuff starts working out on their own. Continue to lose and stuff starts working out in the opposite direction.

I would have never anticipated a hot list conversation before last season started. However, year one was so bad that it’s understandable why Belichick would show up on some lists. If you look at the schedule it’s even more understandable because you can see a scenario where things really go off the rails. Let’s all hope that doesn’t happen!

If we have to rely on the 54 FR, it could get ugly

Great post. He’s got to win some games and we have to show legit improvement. No moral victories. No keeping games close. Wins are all that matters if he wants to keep his job.

It's always generic, lacking any nuance, and full of blah, blah, blah. In other words it is never a cogent / direct response to the issues people raise. Oh I understand your dislike. I also understand we suck at football and people at unc dont understand football and dont want to do the things it takes to be a champion. In fact they intentionally do things to destroy football because they don’t need it want it or the people that come with winning football games. I know what they want is the opposite of what you need to win and they are being pushed right now and you guys are kicking and screaming. Just like with butch. I also know certain media is captured and are complicit in the attacks. I know if he won 10 games it would rush the process of removing him not put it off. This sec thing scares people “we don’t need those kind of people in chapel hill”. I know if they could shut down football tomorrow and still pay for everything they would.

Doesn’t make any difference who the coach is. Carolina will have an uphill climb on ice to be good as long as we’re in ACC. SEC third party NIL money is greater by far and players have much greater exposure. I don’t know why we don’t go ahead and do the buyout now we will get the money back in two years, just based on the revenue collected by SEC teams.

You seem to want someone or something to blame for not having good football more than you want good football itself.
