I’m on TikTok pretty regularly and haven’t seen anything about a Door Challenge. But I searched it up quickly and the only thing I could find is some “challenge” that is basically just ding-dong ditching people by kicking their door hard a few times and running. People have been kicking the doors with varying intensity though. Some have been actually doing damage to the door frames, so maybe that’s the case here

As a law expert, I need someone to explain like I’m 5 why 1 count for door number 1 but 10 counts for door number 2. I just assumed it was 11 total doors, but this reads like it was 2.

These guys need to grow the F up. TikTok challenges are for children.

From what I understand and the way the police report read, one day, one of the offenses took place, the second day, the remaining 10. But it was 11 offenses for each of the four.

All I'll say is I'm glad there was no social media in the late 70s and early 80s because I came up with enough stupid ideas on my own to find my way into an occasional mess. I certainly didn't need an app giving me more dumb ideas. And I definitely didn't need my friends recording and uploading my few bouts of idiocy.

So basically, the “prank” or “challenge” is borderline breaking & entering by kicking someone’s door in. Weird, those words don’t seem to go with that action at all.

Just curious, not trying to defend anything, the price of everything has doubled over the past 7-8 years. Have the thresholds that determine misdemeanor vs felony changed?

The threshold is $500, right? Doors ain't cheap plus they might be factoring in install labor as well.

Some of these "pranks" being pushed on social media will blow your mind. Out of the blue my wife told me about a kid that got the idea of putting a stress ball into the microwave and heating it for a couple of minutes. He took it out of the microwave and squeezed it which cased boiling hot goo to explode onto his face. He now has 2nd degree burns on his face, hands and arms. I guess it's cute watching someone gag on a spoonful of cinnamon or trying to eat a sleeve of crackers without water, but trying to exit a driverless rolling vehicle and then reentering it or kicking in someone's front door is a recipe for disaster. Social media along with peer pressure will definitely inspire kids to stupid things.

Ah. Good point. Thresholds should be updated to reflect inflation, which comes for us all.
