Predictable outcome. I'm sure he will just do what Lucas did if they refuse to put him in the portal.

Can’t stop him from enrolling and playing football here if he wants to. NIL stuff who knows but he’ll play football here next year if he wants to

This is worst case scenario for Canes. Washington did this and their QB returned. Would hate to see that happen with Mensah.

Probably not. This was a predictable action on Duke's behalf. They can try to mess with his NIL, but they can't control where he enrolls for school.

I would have to assume that since he decided to enter the portal after the Washington situation happened that Mensah's agent and legal representatives reviewed everything and determined that he could transfer out.

One would assume, but you don’t know.

They certainly can't get an injunction that prevents him from enrolling in another school. Since they aren't pay for play contracts they can't prevent him from playing football somewhere else. There are certainly loopholes to the exclusive rights to his NIL. Nobody would ever give up the rights to their name image and likeness for everything. There would be nothing to prevent the Mas brothers from paying him $5 million dollars to be the official spokesman of Mastec. Patrick Mahomes has a contract with State Farm for commercials. I'm sure he is restricted from doing commercials for other insurance companies but he's not restricted from doing commercials for McDonalds.

I also think it was worked out behind the scenes to keep him. NIL can't and won't hold a player there. They can try to affect future NIL, but at the end of the day, if it goes to court, Miami says we will pay back the value of the contract and make that entity whole really puts Duke in a no win situation. This is the reality of college football until a CBA is made. And the players have to be classified as employees as well. Duke needs to be reminded that they did this to Tulane last season. So spare me the moral high ground.

Name Image and Likeness... that's all that is in question... not where he can play.

I think the NIL is hilarious. So Duke sues to keep his NIL contract and he enrolls at Miami. Duke can keep paying him and showing his images etc while he is at Miami. LMAO

Lol Duke is basically saying, we know you don’t want to be here, but let us keep paying you money since we haven't finished paying you everything yet. Do they really think Mensah will want to play with them if they sue and make him stay.
