due to timing , Bama's win , and the choke job on Dillingham ... Michigan is left with no real proven candidates that make you feel confident for the future. Everyone left is either mid, or a big risk .
what Michigan football needs most right now are two things:
1) high level leadership
2) a roster that can compete against next year's schedule
Biff doesn't check any boxes when it comes to X's and O's experience, but he checks every box from a leadership and CEO qualification standpoint . We're better off trying to preserve the most of this roster , having great coordinators in place, and letting Biff work as a CEO figure engaging boosters and keeping players / families happy .
IMO that is way better off than hiring a guy that most are disappointed in, losing your best players and donor interest in the process.
I tend to disagree that the current hire needs to be a long term solution . This is more about preventing this from completely unraveling now . Deboer and Dillingham were your only real shots at potentially upgrading the roster for next season and making a playoff run. Everyone else is going to lose 4 + games barring some miracle.
I'm coming around to the idea of letting Biff hold things together . Did we look any worse when he was filling in for Sherrone?

Let’s replace one coach who wouldn’t be hired as head coach at any other program in america, with another

I’ll never come around on Biff. If he’s anything more than the interim for the citrus bowl, I’ll know everything I need to know and stop caring.

Honestly the more he talks the less I want him. I think it’s clear he won’t stay though if not selected.

" he checks every box from a leadership and CEO qualification standpoint". I don't even know what means. Can he win football games or not? His past indicates absolutely not.

ok let me keep trying - for a professional organisation valued at 1 billion +
Michigan has :
1. no owner
2. no president of operations
3. no head coach
Biff could handle roles 1 and 2 , and do ok with 2 great coordinators and a great GM ( Courtney Morgan perhaps) .

Brohm, who most seem to hate, is by far a more qualified candidate than Biff. Am I stumping for Brohm? No. Simply pointing out that Michigan can do better.

DonQuixote 88 said:Biff just gave an interview throwing Harbaugh and others under the bus, including himself since he was here for 3 of the last 5 years. And I assume this was done in an attempt to curry favor with Warde in the hopes to be named HC for now. I just don’t see how he is a solution to the current problem. We need a complete reboot and it has to start with the AD. The timing of this whole situation is terrible and prevents us from ripping off the bandaid and starting over because those in power would be out of a job and we would essentially be forfeiting 2026. So the pain will likely continue unless Warde and company luck their way into a good hire.due to timing , Bama's win , and the choke job on Dillingham ...
