Malone Coaching Staff Update

According to sources close to the situation, Michael Malone has conveyed an intent to keep assistants Sean May and Pat Sullivan and director of operations Eric Hoots on staff. These positions haven’t all been accepted yet, but that’s the aim.

Good with that. Add a couple of his own guys and let’s roll.

I’m cool with it. I think the continuity will do Malone good. Also glad those guys and their families wouldn’t have to uproot.

If you watched his interview with Jones and Adam back in October 25 you know Sullivan was staying. Hoots is a fixture and any coach would be an idiot to get rid of him.

I like that. I know Sullivan was our director of recruiting, hopefully that can help with some retention.

As he should. Although, not sure what bench assistants have really brought to the table as far as player development or strategy. Hoots is a slam dunk and I would imagine he'd stay if asked.

Does anyone have any idea who the likely/best GM candidates are? That seems like the most key hire, and I couldn't name a single candidate if I had to.

Smart. Methinks a plan is already pretty fleshed out and he will be able to move quickly

Based on his comments about Pat, not surprised at all about Sully staying. May is a little surprising, but I don't hate it.

Does Sullivan recruit at all? I don’t think I’ve ever heard a mention of him even watching a live prospect.

I thought the same thing. They are the same age and both from NJ/NY -- curious if they knew each other from back in the day. Would have liked to see Frederick get some consideration.
