Maybe it's time...
Brown 26
Able 25
Avdalas 27
Stevenson 24
Keita 22
Adams 23
Samodurov 23
Denis 14
Young 10
Thomas 4
Bennerman 2
Playing hard defense, no one playing too many minutes. 20-24 mins seems like the ceiling for Keita. For comparison I don't think Meeks ever had more than 24 mpg.
170 mins for our top 7. Denis, Young, Thomas probably matchup dependent and remaining to be seen who is more effective.
Foul trouble, injury, whatnot Avdalas likely has minutes increase. I really like the Stevenson/Adams/Samodurov PF dynamic, with Stevenson and Samo rotating into the C position when Keita is out as needed.

I think that looks good for non-conference games.
When it ramps up:
Neo 32
Brown 30
Able 30
Alex 26
Jarin 26
Keita 20
Denis 16
Maximo 16
Young 4
Neo is going to play a lot due to his versatility and facilitating skills. Maximo and Denis are the too wild cards. We’ll see how good they are to steal more mins.

Who is the starter Alexandros Samodurov or Sayon Keita?
Will Maximo steal the starting spot from Jarin Stevenson?
Can anyone out score Brown?
Who leads this team in rebounds?
Can Thomas earn any important minutes?
If a starting backcourt player gets injured for a few games who steps in?

What if Cade Bennerman turns out to be healthy and ready to compete for minutes?

I bet Stephenson plays 30+ minutes a game.

Young is much better than folks realize. HD had no clue how to use a dawg.

Joshlive said:I think we feature Keita up to his effective limit on minutes/fouls/conditioning. Samo splits his time probably 2/3 center, 1/3 PF if that matters for our offenseWho is the starter Alexandros Samodurov or Sayon Keita?
Joshlive said:Possibly but he' might be more effective off the bench ? We'll see. Will Maximo steal the starting spot from Jarin Stevenson?
Joshlive said:Able might. There's a possible future where Adams might. The others, Neo, Samo, Jarin - I don't think they are consistently a top scorer for us but will have games where they may beCan anyone out score Brown?
Joshlive said:I think he gets important minutes only in case of injury. I think Adams is a better version of him right now.Who leads this team in rebounds? Can Thomas earn any important minutes?
Joshlive said:Adams is the first guy up if any starter is out, since there's a lot of versatility. Brown out - Neo PG, Adams to 3, Denis and/or Young more minutes to play D on short, quick guards Able out - Neo to 2, Adams to 3 Neo out - Adams to 3 Jarin out - Adams to 4 since Samo will have more C duty Keita out - Samo and Jarin start, Adams gets lots of time If Bennerman is ready to play more then we're in better shape for '27.If a starting backcourt player gets injured for a few games who steps in?

You know I love me a good ole' fashioned minutes thread. I am scared to put down numbers until Samo officially commits and Able officially withdraws from the draft. Just a few thoughts though:
1. I think Able will be our leading scorer (with Brown second).
2. I think Avdalas will be our leading assist man and probably our most important player by season's end.
3. If Samo is our last rotational player we add, it will be interesting to see how we handle the frontcourt. Personally, I don't see Stevenson as being super complementary to either Keita or Samo at the 5 on paper. The 2 combos I do like on paper are Maxi/Samo and Samo/Keita. I think regardless we will see more Maxi at the 4 since he is a good rebounder (averaged over 11 boards a game at EYBL last summer).
4. I really hope we get another big with some muscle who at minimum could give us 10-12 mpg. Logue would have been perfect.
5. Don't see either in the regular rotation, but if it comes down to it, one of my spicy takes is that Malone would play Thomas over Young.
6. With Samo at the 5, I love the idea of going true 5 out/delay with Samo attacking a big from the top of the key, he has a pretty quick first step for a near 7 footer.
7. With Samo at the 4 I saw several actions with him attacking off the roll and hitting a guy in the dunker's spot (typically Faried), would love to see the same with he and Keita.
8. Bennerman is pretty enigmatic to me, looks like a potential freak athlete but most of his highlights are pretty underwhelming then he randomly grabs a board and at 7 feet goes coast to coast and baptizes someone at the rim. I wonder if he has typical "nice guy" syndrome. I think he could be good if he got nasty. Would be huge if he could warrant 5-7 minutes a game, but I doubt he will be ready for that quite yet.

Malone and NBA guys in general have much tighter rotations. I think he will be very similar to HD in terms of keeping a tight rotation. Malone basically played 7 guys in his best years in Denver and that was close to 100 game seasons. I think guys will get chances early but based on his track record I think its a 7-8 man rotation by Dec. The C position will probably be a 2-3 man platoon though since there's not really a big on the roster capable of playing 30 mpg, so maybe that turns into a 8-9 man rotation.

Part of me hopes Bennerman is better than advertised and can be a backup 5 some. Allowing Samadurov and Keita and Stevenson to play some together at 5,4,3...
Stevenson, Samadurov, Keita and Advalas would be a huge lineup.

Brown: 29 min (PG and SG)
Able: 30 min (SG and SF)
Neo: 28 min (SG, SF and PG)
Jarin: 25 min (PF, maybe some SF)
Keita: 23 min (Center only)
Samo: 21 min (Center and PF)
Maxi: 18 min (PF and maybe some SF)
Denis: 16 min (SG and maybe some PG)
Young: 7 min (SG and SF)
Bennerman: 3 min (Center only)
Couple things I like about this roster:
1. One of the Brown, Able, Neo will be our third best guard. That's as good as you will see 1-3 in the country.
2. Yes this team lacks girth up front but we can compensate a little with huge 3 men (Jarin and Maxi), and have the other play the 4. You'd worry about Samo center minutes but you could realistically trot out
pg: Neo (6-9)
sg: Able (6-5)
sf: Jarin (6-10)
pf: Maxi (6-7)
C: Samo (6-11)
And that's still a lineup with great size.
**Don't love jarin or Maxi at the three but they can play it if we are up against a beefier front court and need the positional rebounding
