I'm not sure if were running it back with the same roster... If I am JJ, why come back? Moreno will catch a huge payday in portal. Noah might come back, Chandler probably, after that? Who?

It doesn't take Matt Jones to figure this out. What donor would waste good money on this program?

Whoever told the Herald Leader that we spent $22 million on the roster needs to be fired. Nothing good was ever gonna come from that info becoming public knowledge Best case scenario: you win but it allows people to detract from your accomplishments Worst case scenario: you’re looking at it

We need to really hope that Pope gets it together and outlasts Mitch. Barney cannot be trusted to make the next major coaching hire at UK.

He didn’t. I’m pretty sure on the postgame show he went player by player and finished saying only 2-3 players are likely to come back next season. But it was him speculating, not him giving an informed opinion based on the negotiations the team was having with the current roster that was reported a month or ago. I think he speculated Moreno, Chandler, and a possibility of Lowe. But everyone he pretty much said he doesn’t see them wanting to come back or he doesn’t see the coaching staff wanting to keep them.

We may have to grab players from Scott County High School just to have a dang roster at this point

Has any of the guys improved in year two with Pope? He’s done after next year we just have to wait out the inevitable

If true we gave JQ $2 million to come here and he may not play again this season. It was a gamble and we definitely will not get a return on this investment. So why would I give millions to a player and not get something back? JQ was known as a defensive player, shot blocker and put backs, but very limited offensively. I believe Pope is too smart for his own good, which sounds odd, but he places too many emphases on analytics and has seems to have zero feel for the game. Plus with our slow starts (sooooo many of them) he cant motivate and that's over 50% of being game ready............mentally.

I said before I thought we'd lose JJ, Lowe, and BG due to cutting back on funds. I thought it would be because we'd have a gm come in, offer market value, and they'd get mad at the paycut. Now, it'll apparently be because we actually don't have the funds. This is awesome. Can't wait. So excited for next year

Barnhart needs to step down before we hire the next coach imo

There's only a couple of players in year 2 on the roster.

Exactly - giving this clown 16+ million for this season, and another 6 million or so for a few to come back next season (22 million number). Who in the right fucking mind would want to let Pope spend their money after this fucking epic ---- no wait, BEAUTIFUL disaster. I hope all of the big donors tell Pope to go get bent and all he has to work with next season is rev share. Pope has been exposed and a lot of us knew when he was hired, he was garbage.

He said he talked to people that said that. It was pretty early in the show, but he also said what you said.

There's a reason why football is being so active in recruiting... Now you know why.

Mitch has donors burning their wallets for nothing. Idk how they give any money to anything at this point
