I assume Shelstad will follow suit here soon. Future is bleak to say the least

Told you guys for a few weeks now not to expect him back. He'll land somewhere and have a great season. Expecting the same from Shelstad.

Gonna be another stain for Dana if he goes somewhere else and balls out. He better improve this team and do it quickly

We were bad this year and we’ll be even worse next year. Bleak times right now for men’s basketball.

When Dana has difference making talent that at least return for their 2nd year he's usually been able to retain them through their eligibility. This isn't a good sign.

Kwame is a much better player when he's not the focal point. So he could have a quality season at a Kentucky or Duke. But if he thinks he should be the focal point and commands that kind of money, Oregon is better off moving on. I'm not mad, those are just simple truths. Kwame was not going to be the guy to lead this team back to 20 wins next season unless he had similar or better players around him. JMO. That said I appreciate what he did this year and sticking around and trying to finish the season out.

We are going to be the worst team in the Big Ten next season. Hopefully change will happen a year from now.

Expected. We need to have a huge transfer portal haul

I don't think he needs to be a focal point, he isn't a good enough scorer for that. However, I think he can be a better player then he showed here

Agreed. There is definitely still potential there.

Hopefully Dana is gone , but if not his only hope is finding those random white guys that hit 40%+ from 3 at Cal St Baptist

FWIW, as I've said multiple times already, I expect Shelstad to move on in the same way. Enter the portal, test NBA waters. Point is he won't be at Oregon next season. And honestly, it really doesn't bother me all that much either. Good player, can be good with a strong supporting cast around him. But I do think Oregon can build a good team if the money is there to do it.

Even if we did get a huge transfer portal haul, which we won’t, Dana wouldn’t be able to take advantage of it anyway.

Not a great sign when highly rated players aren’t being developed and end up leaving after a bad year. The silver lining is that Kwame never fully lived up to his potential and is ultimately replaceable. The bigger question is whether we trust Dana and the staff to identify and develop the right replacements, and right now, I don’t.

I don’t trust Dana to do a full rebuild at all at this point. He hasn’t brought good players in from the portal since the Chris Duarte team. Jermaine Couisnard was really the only high level guy he got. He may not have a ton of NIL resources but a lot of mid majors have been able to get better players that didn’t cost a lot.

Then we won’t have a team. We have like 2 returners at this point.

Almost spit up my coffee when I read Shelstad/NBA.

Whatever Kwame was asking for next season, if it’s a raise he’s not worth it. Whoever gets him will be overpaying
