We fought against staff to come back the st Johns game early with only 1 full practice under his belt in a year fought for full minutes not being restricted to 7 against Bellarmine and being able to play his game without the handcuffs on. He had some swelling and was pulled by uk medical staff he has being doing everything to get it out. He dont go out. dont hang out. All he do is ice and rehab 24/7 he is just now getting it out. So whatever frustration u think u got from him not playing u can multiply that by a thousand for him. And if any of yall grown ass men got any frustrations with my 18 yr old son who does everything he is supposed to do. come see me im always around and want all the smoke"

The swelling is coming down, and he wants to play. Fans and dad should STFU, and let this play out.

Respectfully sir, Butler played with a concrete brace on last year and Lowe fought as long as he could this year. If your son was not ready this year, maybe you all should not have committed to the team this year. Perhaps rehabbed at Az St? Or was the money just talking louder?
At least say it’s “fluid” in his knee or something. Swelling just sounds like BS

Anybody who thinks he’s out of line for defending his 18 year old son and providing the transparency that so many people have been begging for is simply delusional in my irrelevant opinion. JQ has obviously had every desire to go play since day 1, and running with everything else has never made sense based on what has been shown. I wish JQ was playing too, but really seems like people are hunting reasons to hate a kid that wanted to play. Call his dad a clown if you want to, but we live in an age of social media now where parents and players WILL read and respond to things especially when narratives are negative and consistent. It might not be the thing that keeps kids away from UK, but it might make some start to think twice and look at their other options harder. Say those kids aren’t meant for the program if you want, and we can just continue to be mediocre lol. I’m obviously in the minority here so I’ll take whatever bashing comes with it, and not saying I love the tweet but it’s really hard to blame the man.

It also sucks our fan base likes to call kids out and not know the situation behind the scenes. I believe the staff and family are a little at fault for not saying what is going on and being secretive. If you as a staff would come out and give updates instead of none or be vague when you talk about. The rumors of not wanting to play are going to keep going until you put an end to it.
but our fanbase needs to chill on twitter or facebook.

Nobody has frustrations with the 18 y/o.
The frustrations are with the coaching staff that put their eggs in the basket of a well guarded meal ticket and didn’t have a clawback clause agreed upon that could have let him go rehab and prep for the draft elsewhere.
Pops needs to log off and go count his money.
