Intriguing. His game kind of reminds me of Shawn Livingston before the terrible injuries. Good passer, good size for a wing, and pretty good athleticism.

I think he was implying perhaps hoops is getting into the “we can now pay to get elite recruits on campus” game due a well deserved influx of cash

Unless these 5 stars are basically "one and done" talents, the Kansas, Dukes, and Kentuckys of the basketball world are looking for high end transfers rather than high schoolers to fill out their roster. This is opening up the path for the next tier or two of schools to go get recruits they wouldn't have gotten in the past. If Fred can keep landing 4 stars and the occasional 5 star that the big schools don't want anymore, and actually keep them, he will continue to pump out 20+ win seasons.

It will be interesting to see what Fred does with more money and a proven winner. I think the get old-stay old with shooters and willing defenders needs to remain the formula. But if you can sprinkle-in some elite freshman talent to supplement the lack of raw athleticism on the wings, that wouldn’t suck.
